Living up to my name...

I have just finished painting my hallway and half my staircase.. I had to stop because my back was killing me and I'm now a rather beautiful delicate shade of green! (Not lime but you can't have it all!) I actually think there is more on the walls though than on me which is quite a result but.. did any of you notice?! I stopped painting because of backache! Not because I got hit! Usually if my neighbours 3 houses down are painting it makes me sick and I've just painted six match pots of paint all over my living room (narrowed it down to two!) AND I've painted the whole of the hallway and halfway up the staircase! I'm delighted, a new look for MY home and it's pain free to boot! I know this isn't exactly the meaning of life or the cure for aids but it's such a result for me and I'm overjoyed.. in fact I would be bouncing off the walls but I'm rather proud of the fact that there is (fractionally) more paint on them than me!

Rich at the moment your guess is as good as mine.. I was planning on taking a frova before bed to try and knock any night time hits on the head - all I've used in the last 24 hours has been o2. Big fan of RC seeds though and they are the first and only preventative that has given me any PF time. Not planning on dosing again until the end of next week (time without kids) so hence the frova right now but will be detoxing from this w/e so fingers crossed for me!

PAINFREE TIME YEAH !! I so understand the painting thing. It is a great perk up to add color to your life and whatever color you want. Most people wouldn't care for my coral pink top/baby blue bottom kitchen walls.I also have darker blue walls with Light blue and pink sponged on it inmy livingroom and hallway.sounds wierd but works.Aprils room is now a kinda dark purple (her color choice)and will soon have frogs kinda stenciled but not.she tells me she knows just how she wants it so she's doing it.Beths will be light blue and one of a posable 20 designs(yeah she's the indecisve one ) As for backache I had my sisters and niece help and Aprils room was mostly done by the girls with some .get lotsa help and take your time.can you say paint party? FYI paint comes first then party wish someone had told me LOL. Minnie modified to add**I was wondering what you were doing to raise Hel ? thats not what you meant by living up to your name??? LOL

That's great, Helen! Painting can be so much fun when you're not in any hurry and it's a beautiful day... Sanna, who has painted her room once (got bored to white, so it's light blue now) and a small storage house back at her summer cottage (its colors red & white were fading)

Well I got hit at 2am, and then 4am and that was at least 3 hours after I'd stopped painting so I don't think it was the paint.. I've been painting (mostly me but some ceiling too!) today and not a flippin' shadow even in sight.. it's brilliant! Of course it could be the two bottles of muscadet that my friend Kirsty and I drank in order to counter-attack the paint fumes that did the trick.... I'm having so much fun but I have to say I'm walking like a duck.. elegance and me are just two words you cannot use in the same sentence!

Jen email it to me! I'll pm you my email addy and I'll post it for you. Ting Tong, what would you know about having the painters in? I hear you're a whizz at DIY (Or was it that you suck.. hmmm....) I'm so sore now I won't be walking tomorrow, OR waddling for that matter but what I've accomplished today (getting pissed and covered in paint!) more than makes up for it! ok, the room looks awesome at night with soft lighting. The logs are wallpaper (total pain in the ass to put up!) and the "stone" is painted and has a lot of detail that doesn't show well in the photo, but looks really cool. It is so relaxing and warm and cozy in there, really peaceful. added: I also put an electric fireplace on the wall opposite the bed, really rustic looking one, and we can lay in bed and watch the "flames" ( those new elec. ones are very cool!)

That's pretty cool decorating. Sorry you have to fight the beast as well as gravity.... In the good old days, people used to get things like cottages and camps painted by exchanging steak dinners and beer with as many friends and customers as possible. If enough showed up, a couple of swipes by each and it was over. You have to come up with something Helen....There ya go kids....here's your chance. Hang on Helen. Charlie
