Then there are nice people in the world....

I've been at the office since EARLY this morning - with a four year old, trying to get caught up a little. The little darling is yelling, "Granny I'm hurgry - I want to go home and a few other things.... I'm trying to concentrate and not hang him on a nail somewhere.... Then, out of the clear blue, a lady from next door, comes over with a big bowl of stew because she saw my truck outside and thought we might be getting hungry since we'd been here so long. Right now, Caleb is digging into the stew like he hasn't eaten in a week (and trust me - he hasn't missed a meal). Now that's what I call a nice neighbor and very much appreciated today. So the next time I start bitching about the human race - remind me there are really some nice people around.... Hugs BD

I have a bunch of nice people that I work with... The first hurricane that went through Fla totally destroyed the apartment complex were I lived. 140 families were forced to move when 3/4 of the complex was condemned. My co-workers banded together and cleaned out what we could and moved it to a storage company who offered half price rentals for all the victims of the storm. I also received a check for $4000 for new furniture to rebuild our lives from the company that I work for. This week when my co workers learned that both my mom & dad passed away, put together a huge food basket from a gourmet food market, a gift card to Publix and $140 in cash to spend on "whatever". Not to mention all the love and caring I have received from everyone here. Whenever I start to doubt human nature I reflect on all that has happened to me and realize that no matter how hard life is there is always a helping hand not too far away!! Jan

When my house burned in 2000 in the early AM hours, I was surprised at all the people who helped us even without asking. I took the day off work and had to meet the insurance adjuster at the house at 2 PM, when I arrived at the house there was boxes of food, clothing, 2 beds, and an envelope with 500 dollars in cash, my yard looked like a garage sale. People I didn't even know were dropping stuff off as I talked to the adjuster.
