One step....

This will not be as good as Jeep but here goes. 
Ahead of the demon remaining pain free although with a shadow not a good place to be.
I swat him with this I swat him with that and still it remains just like a knat.
I wished he would leave and take all his pain but inside of my head I think he remains.
It has been a while since he has had me at bay and now he is here and he wants it his way.
Never relax he will wonder right in I will slap him around and not let him win.
One step ahead of the demon not a good place to be but I have all my friends and they will help me
All of his tools diggiing in my brain I wish I could see him and return all his pain.
The bastard we fight is serious you see. So we gather together help all in our sea.
You know we are special and the demon is here. I want to defeat him and shed not a tear.
I could go one with this rant it is clear but the demon I speak of is so tricky this year.
One step ahead of the demon I will try to remain and I want no one else to feel all his pain.
