NC/SC and all others, meet & greet

To anyone within traveling distance - by foot, car, air, or transportation, is anyone interested in a meet and greet in the beautiful state of NC (or SC both are lovely). Nothing set up in stone yet, just let us know. If there's interest we'll find the place/date/time, and "they will come" Sandy

Hey Tim/Tanner - It's a pleasure to meet you. Seriously, I would love to have a meet and greet in our area. I'm in Jamestown, NC, little village between Greensboro and High Point - we're next door neighbors, almost If we can get a few more warm bodies together for a meet and greet, let's do it. I've, so far, only met one other clusterhead, Bill (RacerNC-1) and he's cool in my book. My hubby, Tarey, is my best supporter (outside of the folks here), and we'd love to meet you and Linda any time, any place. I'll keep bumping this thread in hopes of getting more people, but even if we don't, you, me, and Bill, and our significant others can have our own private party if necessary. Somehow, some way, the "beach" is calling me. Sandy

I like the beach, but it's not all that central for optimal attendance..... If something informal is what would be best we might find something up in your area (Winston/Salem). After seeing the barbeque being eaten in the pics at the other recent meet and greet it put me in the mood for some Lexington Barbeque..... Scott

I'm in the extreme North East of NC and if I win the lottery this week I will be there! Why is it the people we love the most are always furthest away??

| Helen, I've been wondering the very same thing myself. I don't hang around at so called message board at one Finnish website for clusterheadaches. My ch home is right here. Too bad that most of my ch family life so far away... But I'm planning to win in the lottery soon, too. Sanna

Uh, first question - all you lottery winner wannabees - did you buy a ticket???? See you in Milwaukee if not in NC. PS - If you did buy the ticket, and perchance did win - could you spare a dime in this direction ? Sandy

I buy a ticket every week Sandy.. it must be my turn soon! It's well worth a £ for the lovely time I have day dreaming about how I'll spend it I promised Vig a while ago that when I did I'd host a convention here and pay for everyone to come and that's a promise I'm doing my best to keep! Speaking of which.. Viggie where the heck are you?!!

Sounds really good to me as well. I'd really like to meet all of you. I live in Summerville, right outside of Charleston, SC, a beautiful and historic city and just recently voted the most hospitable city in the US. There are 4-5 wonderful beaches within 10-15 minutes of here, since you all were talking about beaches. However it seems that the majority of you are in NC so I wouldn't have a problem taking a little road trip for the chance to meet all of you. PFDANs to all. Much luv. Pfunk

Vig - Racer (Bill) has already been appointed second in command here! He's in for sure, even if I have to go pick him up and take him home. He has no choice! Just trying to get an idea of the number of folks who want to get together, then we'll try to come up with a compatible date, and place. Keep this thread going for a few more days to try and get as many warm (or cold) bodies as possible and then we PLAN THE PARTY! Sandy

Thanks Sandy!!! I am new to "OUCH" my son is a ch victim and I am very excited about getting to know as much information and as many people as possible. This seems to be a great group of people. It is rare to find anyone who understands what the ch sufferer goes through. I would welcome the opportunity to attend a meet and greet with my son. We are in Columbia, SC. Additionally, I am a professional meeting/convention planner, so if there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask. Thanks, Louise Barham

Sandy, me again. Just some fyi on planning these kinds of things. I noticed some mention of beach, which I would love, but this time of year is not a good negotiating time if we are looking at hotels. Now if we are looking at January, I am sure I can secure a $99 rate at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville. But for spring or summer an inland location would probably be more pocket book friendly. I know this is not an issue for some, but it ceryainly is for others. Just a suggestion. Louise
