I'm sure these athletes have heard every possible joke regarding their sport.
All their lives they practice sliding large rocks with handles down an icy track with a couple of broom wielding partners. They perfect the art of picking the right rock for the right occasion and polishing the track just right to get those rocks to run/stop in the right places. The concentration of their faces and frantic efforts to move the rock on just the right track at just the right speed says it all.
Their reward - hopefully a medal, lots of off-color jokes regarding their chosen sport and possibly honorable mention somewhere under the Nutrition Facts on the side of a Fruity Pebbles cereal box.
Now that's committment, and I have to respect that.

I tend to agree...If they are going to allow "Curling" as a "sport" then why not have bowling? It appears to me to be sort of the same or maybe shuffleboard..

Used to live around the corner from the Utica Curling Club. Pretty snobbish bunch. MDs and lawyers but they let me watch. Used to throw curling brooms in the trash. Probably good for sweeping off your boots.
Missed the Swedes so far.
