Meet and Greet in Atlanta

Well, it was with a sad round of goodbyes that we all finally left Tommy's BBQ (Tommy actually invited us BACK!). We spent the afternoon talking (imagine that). Jean and Matt found the place without much ado. Of course I got lost and had to call for directions (wellll, they didn't tell me it was halfway to Linden and right next to Dr. Joe's health food farm - or at least Dr. Joe had a health food farm there 30 years ago). And DD of course was VERY fashionably LATE as usual. She took the scenic route. My son showed up for the eats and gave us the lowdown on how NOT TO WIN at the casinos (he's been with the Horseshoe for about 12 years and knows how to fix slot machines so mom looses every time!). We ate barbeque (Texas Style) and ate and ate and ate. After we all got full, we went out to Jean's truck for a smoke (Matt took us to a NO smoking place of course) and enjoyed some Texas winter air. Refreshing way to work off our lunch. Then we went back inside and talked and talked some more. Amazing how much talking can go on at a clusterhead meet and greet. And before Jean gets home and chimes in here - I did tell her to shut up, but I said PLEASE and was very polite about it! The roads weren't near as messy as they were supposed to be. I only hit a couple of patches of ice on the way home. Of course I didn't have as far to go as DD and Jean. They should be checking in soon (or they'd BETTER check in soon) - they know how I worry. Anyhow, if you weren't there we probably talked about you... and good enough for you... YES, Jonny, your name was mentioned a couple of times. I tried to take up for you, but .... To all those who've never met another Clusterhead - do so if you get a chance. Even my son (who still thinks Mom's "friends" are axe murderers ) has gotten into the swing of this meet and greet stuff and actually showed up today and "relaxed". He'd met Matt, but not the girls. They're an experience, but he came thru it without a scratch. Gotta pack for Laughlin and the meeting with Bob G. Can't wait to get to a warmer climate. Hugs BD

Well, I finally made it home...only hit two ice patches that were scary on the way home...I just kept the wheels straight and slid right through them In my defense...I got on the road at 8:30 this morning and didn't make it there until nearly 1:30...so I win the award for "Longest distance driven to have lunch with Clusterheads" award for this gathering Tommy's BBQ was everything I hoped for and more. Delicious food and I will be stopping back by there next time I'm out for a scenic drive Everyone, in true southern fashion, waited for me to get there to eat..thanks Y'all...but you didn't have to. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Matt, Jean and Barb (even though Barb told the story about me irritating Jayne with my snoring) All in all it was a fun time. I'm road weary and without my kids tonight. So I'm going to take it easy tonight.... ...I think I hear a rum and coke calling my name ; Y'all missed a real good time. DD

Made it home, and I will post the pics tomarrow, I had a great time, and a Big meal. The company for lunch couldn't have been better, never had a 4 hr one before. For those that drove so far to have lunch with me I say Thank you. Mary spent some time with her mother, good thing too I was out numbered 3 to 1, so it was just us clusterheads. The trip back wasn't to bad, didn't hit snow until just south of Grove OK, so we made good time. Well worth the trip. Pics tomarrow.

This is the only pic I took...guess us girls were just too busy talkin'...LOL. Matt's a real sweetheart. Many thanks to Mary and Matt's Dad for allowing us this time together. The lunch at Tommy's was fantastic! Typical Texas Bar- B-Que...and the food was great! It was great to meet Buddy, Barb's son. I had heard about him but never met him. He's a real sweetie! Anywho, I took a pic of Matt......... Jean

| Yep, she sure did. I know better than to discuss accounting with an accountant She set me straight.... The weather was uncooperative....colder than a well diggers a$$ in Montana. Texas has had very little winter weather.....until Saturday. It rained all day and the temperature hovered around freezing. The north wind was about a Kip 10.....good grief it was cold for Texas. There's something about spending the day with another clusterhead........it really warms your heart. Jean

| Be careful with what you suggest, Helen. I'm bit bored with my studies right now, so who knows what I might do. Like back a bag and book a flight to London to see auntie Helen on a moment's notice.... Seriously, as soon as I've got this MA degree done, I'm heading to London. I miss the city a lot. And meeting CH lot in there just adds to its appeal... Mrsmac, I'd love to meet you too! A meet and greet would be fantastic!!! BTW, I'm short too... must back my high heels with me, so I won't be the shortest in there... Sanna

Sanna just call in time to meet you from the airport.. that's all the notice I'll need. You have a standing open invitation Obviously a bit more notice would be handy to organise a meet and greet but you'd be amazed what I can accomplish when I put my mind to it. Now just when exactly does this MA course finish? (Or should that be Finnish?!)
