Heart Survey

My wife ,who has been my life line during the last 20+ years of clusters, has a theory concerning the headaches. I had a heart attack 3 years ago and had to have 2 stints implanted. Immediately afterward, no more clusters after suffering since 1977. I recently had a little problem and was told the stints are about 30% clogged and may need replacement down the road. Guess what?? The clusters started again the middle of January 2006. Could there be a connection between circulation and clusters??

Hmmm... I constantly have really cold hands & feet and a problem with varicous veins (all signs of circulation issues)

I came up with a theory about 6 or 7 years ago that maybe the reason they cannot find the cause of clusters is because the head is merely suffering the symptom of a problem elsewhere in the body. If it is a vascular condition, could it be possible that the cause is maybe some minute flaw in the heart that goes undetected? (I talked the ears off a few people at convention in Nashville about my theory). I know there have been a couple of CHers who had heart issues and afterwards their CH's went away. So, this makes me question even more the possibility that the head is suffering the symptom of a problem elsewhere, most likely the heart. Peace, Carl D *I have to add, I also have some circulation problems, and some major leg issues due to poor circulation. Hmmm.

I'm the ice queen when it comes to cold hands and feet, so far with all the test done, no heart problem has been identified but it makes you wonder. Like Carl said maybe some minute flaw? Then again there are other symptoms that do not correlate with only a heart condition. I hope someone finds the cause soon so that an active solution can be found. It is good though to explore all avenues of probable cause.

Well, I haven't had problems with my heart, yet, but my hands and feet are always cold. Even in the sauna! When I was first diagnosed, that neuro said that cold hands and feet and ch are part of the same thing and that it's "a blood circulation thing". That was the official theory about ch in Finland in January 2002. Don't know it they have changed their minds since... Sanna

My CHer had a stent put in Sept. 2004. He also has w/o medication so pretty bad cholesterol. As I said before he had a three or four day off after surgery and for him that is a vacation from clusters. I don't know.....I know I am not a Dr. but there has to be some common thread that everyone is missing.

ummm, I have a heart murmur. And in '83 or '84, damn near got frostbite to both feet. Haven't been able to keep my feet warm since. First known cluster cycle began in Oct '85.

Yeah, I wouldn't say that thick blood is the cause, just that it aggravates or contributes to the clusters.

Wasn't there a study posted on the board a while back, suggesting a correlation between, not only CH patients and heart defects but migraine patients as well?

| If you've been at it for 20+ years, I would guess that you are old enough that your cluster cycles may just be changing and it has nothing to do with your heart.

I have a theory that when serious trauma, childbirth, or big deal surgery take place, the body shifts to some form of high gear for self-preservation. This may be what happens but there is no way of proving it. I do know that it isn't ethereal or some form of wishful thinking; it's physical. Just something to think about. Charlie
