1. Raise all taxes on all cargo transported through the Port of New Orleans. 2. Raise all taxes on all forign oil off loaded into LOOP (Louisiana Offshore Oil Port). 3. Secure our fair share of the oil and gas royalities extracted from Louisiana 4. Raise all taxes all chemical refining in Louisiana. 5. Raise all taxes on oil refined in Louisiana. 6. Raise all taxes on natural gas extracted from Louisiana. 7. Cancel all new offshore leases until further notice. 8. Demand that all inlets and canals to the gulf be repaired by oil companies who carved up the coastline. 9. Establish a pipeline usage tax on the 40,000 miles of pipeline running through Louisiana. 10. Tax all oil stored in the Stratigic Petroleum Reserve in Louisiana. 11. Raise tax on all seafood harvested from Louisiana waters. 12. Raise tax on Tabasco Sause. I know y'all are tired of hearing this same line from me. Y'all think you are suffering from Katrina fatigue.. just try and live here. W says that 85b is what y'all down in "that part of the country" have been given and that should be enough. I don't know where the money is going but he seems to include the flood insurance paid out by people who paid their flood premiums. Something is very wrong here. We are trying but something stinks besides the reputation we have. I drove down to Violet and up through the lower Parishes the other day. God, you would not believe it. Something wrong is going on. We are doomed. I say shut it all down. I wounder if things would be different if this happened to Houston? Sorry, Steve G

Steve, Everyone in LA knows something is BAD wrong. DC needs to get off their rears and get some help down there, but according to George - everything is going smoothly and according to "plan". There are some answers out there - we just need some politicians in power to SEE them.... Hugs BD

Hey Steve, I know what you mean. However, every time you turn around, it seems that our own govt. figures are singing the death knell for Louisiana. It appears now that our esteemed politicians are proposing a bill that is simply voter fraud in every sense of the term. This mainly applies to New Orleans. They are proposing that voters who have NEVER registered before (those that are in other cities), can register to vote via absentee voting and NOT produce any type of ID that will verify who they are, where they lived or even if they have relocated to another state. Now, when I go to vote and most of these people have known me for years, they ask to see a photo id. If I can't produce it, I can't vote (it is the law here). Looks like our revered legislators are very afraid that their constiuents are not going to be able to vote them back into office unless the rules are changed. When I moved to this state from Mississippi 28 years ago, I had to put up with a lot of *negative* remarks about being from Mississippi (bottom of the 50, etc). Looks like the tables have turned.
