Hmmm ...
That does remind me ... there have been people (or someone) sending women here what appear to be like "personal ads" that are unwanted.
So ... I guess trolls and pervs should be exposed (pun not intended!).
But not in-fights, slander or some of that type of crap.
I think we can block specific senders though right?

All's fair in love and war.

A few choices:
Answer his PM's with your PM's, keeping it private.
Ignore his PM's.
Answer his PM's publicly without posting the PM.
Answer his PM's publicly by posting the PM's.
Remain silent.

The choice you make will determine who is the better man. The gentleman.

Wish I could say yes to that Lee, but unforntunately physically I'm getting worse, but my attitude is up.
I've been posting more often again to try to get myself back in shape just to be able to write. Joined the OUCH Grants Committee and I know I'll need to be able to write a lot and make some good sense of it.
Haven't ruled out your prospect in Oklahoma, still researching and timing is a concern for now.
Thanks,
Dave

PM are PMs, so I'd keep them private. But naturally if someone would send me horrible PMs with insults and things like that  without legimate reasons I probably would mention it to that person directly and if it continued I'd mention it broadly here at general board. But, naturally, my actions have not been tested on the matter and hopefully never will.

But instead I must say that the people who have sent me PMs in the past have sent wonderful PMs, many of them I've kept. I actually re-read many of them last night and that support which those PMs show is absolutely fantastic! Smiley

Wossup, Lee?  Starting to regret some of the bile and vitriol you've vomitted into the occasional PM and worried someone might now publish it openly?

I just looked back at the post you referred to (Bushisms 2, page 2) and you replied to it so pleasantly at the time.  What's changed since then?

Not that you need worry I'll publicly display the messages you sent me after I simply tried to help you out  (talk like that has no place in an open forum)  but I do thank you for the best laugh I've had today -

No I wouldn't, however neither would I...

.. constantly pick fights and try and stir up mud (cleaned that up nicely didn't I everyone?!)

.. start the same thread 50 times a week, its like flaming groundhog day here

.. whine when I got told to STFU 'cos I was making a prat of myself

Quit playing the victim Lee . I've been trying to block your PMs for awhile but it doesn't seem to work. In 5 years you are the only PM I've tried to block.

You sent those PMs to him knowing they would be posted . You set it up so you could come back and whine about it.

When I get hate PMs I will answer saying that it is not welcome and I will post publicly if they do it again. It it comes to that I would do it. That was before PM blocking which I have not tried.

My blocking doesn't seem to work. If the PMs got annoying enough I would first contact the webmaster with my concerns but public posting wouldn't be off the table either.

If someone has chosen to send me a PM to simply be ruder or nastier than they feel comfortable portraying themselves on the public board I'd post it publicly without a shred of guilt.

I believe there is a tendency to hide behind PM's as a method of subtle (or not so subtle, I guess) intimidation. Do that and someone should expect to be outed as a bully or ass.

As for true personal PM's that are related to private matters, no way. "What happens in PMegas stays in PMegas."
