...so as not to jinx myself. I've been doing somewhat better the last month and a half, and am actually walking normal again. I've been waiting for a job to open up, and finally started this week as a Habilitation Technician caring for a handicapped guy 3 days a week, 12 hour days. I basically just monitor him, make sure he takes his meds, prepare his meals and keep him company while his parents are at work. He is a bit messed up from an auto accident and is slow, but pretty normal besides that. He loves music, so we always have something to talk about (he is a Nirvana freak and we listened to the entire "With The Lights Out" box set yesterday). It is a job I can do in any capacity, and when I get hit with a CH I just give myself a shot and ride it out in the other room away from him. The job is fairly simple, and right now the only thing killing me is the calico and himalayan cats that occupy (RULE) the residence. By the time I got home yesterday my eyes were half swollen shut, so stocking up on Loratadine and Visine for next week. I hate being allergic to Cats - now and forever. This is the first real job I've had since the band a couple of years ago, and is my first time being a Hab Tech in almost 15 years. I'm feeling pretty confident with it and like I said, wanted to wait to post about this until the first week was over and I knew how I faired. So, things are looking up. Now if the doc can figure out why I have been sick FIVE TIMES in 4 months and I can start getting a handle on the insomnia which has been a bit better but still a burden. Sleeping 1-4 hours 4-5 times a week now, which is much better than where I was at just a couple of months ago. I was almost convinced the insomnia alone was going to kill me, but I do suspect the reason I have been sick so much is due to low immune function due to both fibro and sleep deprivation. Still fighting it all tooth and nail, and with a new job, an upcoming part in a film and nearing completion of this book (with a new editor ready to start) - things seem to be looking up. I got dumped this week after a brief relationship, but not going to fret it. I have enough to keep me busy and preoccupied to ignore the gaping hole in my chest where my heart used to be. Ah well, love is overrated anyways. Wish me luck and vibes, since the main obstacles right now are the fricken cat allergies. Peace, Carl

Thats awesome man, its always nice to be on the up and up after a tough time. Way to go. What can you do about the cats? Do you have any drugs to prevent you from getting your alergic symptoms? Party on, bro. BMonee

| Loratadine (Clarinex) and visine should help keep those beasts at bay (I hope).

I think I'm coming down myself and doing the sleep night mare (or lack of) thing also , but I'm sure mine is more due to prednisone. What is the fibro? Anyway, best of luck to ya!

| Sorry to hear you're entering the no-sleep danger zone. It sucketh mightily!!! Fibromyalgia is like having arthritis in the muscles. When I get attacks, I feel like I've been beaten by a baseball bat and just moving hurts. Having clothing on hurts. Being awake hurts, and it hurts enough to keep me awake. Sucketh as well. Peace, Carl
