GODS involvement ?? part 1

Trying to post on this site is really starting to pi$$ me off. Every time and I mean every time I hit post either I am disconnected by my isp and loose everything that I wrote or it is to long and I go back to shorten it and it is gone. ARRGH!!!!!!
To try one more time...at least when I get upset I type faster. And I am a chicken typer anyway, so I guess getting upset is good.
The title of the post and pain, I have found a correlation, at least for me. I will attempt to explain myself in several posts because obviously it was to long the first time.
Ch is so rare and they really do not know what causes it. The only thing that they do know is where it hurts,left or right and how it hurts. Look at the stats, the triggers are varied as are the treatments. What works one time may not work the next. Drugs appear to me to be band aids, though for some a very necessary one of survival. Because I can not afford them I choose not to use them as much as my doc would like me to.
I have been told that there was nothing that I have done to deserve this and not to punish myself. Maybe ...Maybe not. Because of ch I have been forced to assess my life and I have found myself wanting and need of atonement. I have caused physical as well as emotional pain in my life. The emotional pain has come back to haunt me and it makes me wonder if this is manifesting itself. Is this even possible? I think it is. The human body is such a complicated thing, toss into that the even more complicated human mind, not to mention the psycheof this creature that has a GOD and claims to have a sole.

I really do sympathise with your frustration - but please don't go too far along this path! CH as divine retribution for past transgressions? Highly improbable - otherwise, why would they hit innocent children?
There are many people who subscribe to the theory that we bring about our own afflictions. Up to a point, this may be quite valid, but I really don't believe that any CH sufferer is experiencing this excrutiating agony because of anything he/she has or has not done.
CH is unique, utterly evil, and there is no rhyme or reason in the selection of its victims. As a sufferer, you have more than enough to contend with without casting around for any self-blame!
I look forward to reading your post Part 2!

I don't care for religion conversations but will add this.....I was also gettin kicked offline all the time and called my server.....they had me change some settings and type in some mumble jumble stuff and 'it worked'.....my connection is still slower then hell but at least that was one less aggravation. I think some 'time out' too if yer connection if idle for a certain amount of time.....like type'n a long post and not movein around. Gospel post'd Pam

I'm hoping things are working better for you now. When I came here, I had trouble but not because of my ISP. I just knew so little about getting around that it was a miracle that I got back a second time. They were nice to the old man and I got a lot of help from these brain damaged people. 
My CH hasn't bothered me in more than a decade but I still feel close to it. After all these years I found other clusterheads. I had no idea there really were more than a couple of people in the world with the things. 
I think of CH as evidence of faulty wiring. My retired RN relatives have the idea that things like this and backache are evidence of our being caught in too early an evolutionary period. Thr race is in the beginning of walking upright for example. We have several thousand years to go before it works as we would like. 
I hope you stick around. I like your posts.

Your God theory is worth thinking about, but how does it square with the facts??
It wasn't that long ago that schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and other mental diseases were thought of in moral terms ..... people went crazy because they opened themselves up to the devil. We still don't understand those diseases, they are very complex, but we know that theory was wrong. And CH is also primarily neurological, not theological.
For me, melatonin tablets are like communion wafers - they bring me atonement/absolution and do away with the pain. And I think God has a commandment that nobody bothered to write in the books: Ye shall not stay up late. In the past years since I changed jobs and keep to a more regular sleep schedule, my cluster pain is almost absent.
As far as what I have done to 'bring this punishment on myself' - two major head injuries from accidents and a damaged jaw when my wisdom teeth were extracted ... head and jaw injuries are known risk factors. And genetics play a role - I was remiss when I chose my parents, and now my circadian clocks don't run well. Do you think children with cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, or other genetic diseases are to blame for their conditions? Or people with Lou Gerhigs disease, which isn't manifest until adulthood, but which is genetic none the less?
I'm not anti-God, I do believe in God. But not God as a prayer genie - rubbing his lamp with a little prayer won't make us all rich and good looking. Not God as the cause of a hurricane hitting New Orleans or the reason that you had trouble posting your messages here. Hurricanes happen, computer glitches happen. The world is generally on autopilot in my opinion; God might occasionally intervene, but he isn't to blame for most of what goes on.
Superstition tends to creep into all religions, if a religion isn't based on superstition to start with. People want to understand the world and feel in control. Animism, the most universal religion, is based on finding a spiritual explanation for what happens, and intervening in the spiritual world to change the material world. There is a natural tendency to explain things, even if the explanation is wrong. Somebody wins at Vegas, and they were wearing purple socks. So next time they gamble, they wear puple socks. If they win, that reinforces the purple socks belief. If they lose, they must have been doing something else wrong - like maybe when they won, they were at the back of the casino, but when they lost (even with the purple socks!) they were at the front of the casino. So they keep adjusting variables that have no relation to the outcome (male dealer vs. female dealer, day of the week, food they ate). The real answer is that sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You could study statistics to improve the odds (but as Barbie tells us "math is hard") and most people go for an easier explanation.
If you have clusters, the excruciating pain is driving you to look for an explanation. Maybe staying up late, smoking, drinking alcohol, consuming too much caffeine, and not drinking enough water are all lifestyle factors that increase the pain. Fine, work on those as they apply to you. Maybe diet has a role (I think it does, others don't). You can work on that. But the genetic component of cluster headache is an unavoidable fact, as is the link with previous head injuries.

AMEN ELAINE.... I too believe that there is an evil presence in the world. A presence that maybe thought he could make deals with people for their souls. Some religions believe that pain is a good thing.... suffering is supposed to be revered in some faiths. We won't know til we die.... all I know is I believe. I suffer and I cannot imagine that God is to blame for any of this. When I can look at my daughter and see such beauty. When I can feel the wind and know HIS strength. When I can touch someone and truly be in Heaven.......Yep thats God..... the pain that this horrendous condition caused us all.
