Life is nothing but.....

Death and Dissapointment (or atleast it seems that way). I am starting a new semister of college and everything for once seemed to be going good. I am out of cycle and no longer in fear of the beast taking up school time, thanks to clusterbusters and all of your alls help. I have no significant other but this usually doesnt effect me negativily because of my friends, family, and dogs. For the first time in years I felt like I was climbing out of the dissapointment of my life and was starting to live life, until yesterday when reality slapped me in the face once again. I live on a 10 acre peice of property and let my dogs out everyday when I get home. They do some running around (they are labs) but usually stay by the house (house is in the middle of the property). Yesterday was like any normal day, let my dogs out, went inside, watched some news, and then went outside to play with them. Thats when I notice one of my dogs in alot of pain and blood all over her. She had been hit by a car. I took her to the vet and had to put her down. It seems like a bad dream that I cant wake up from. If its not one thing, its another, and eventhough I am young, I am becoming very cynical of this world. It seems like it is nothing but death and dissappointment. If I finally solve/deal with one problem, two takes its place. Im so sick of it!! It makes me want to curl up and say Ive had enough, I give up. I know I cant, I know I have to remain strong, I know death is a natural part of life, but its so hard to remain possitive when you keep getting punched in the gut by reality. Thanks for letting me rant. Allen

From one dog lover to another I'm very sorry for your loss Allen. Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown... Jim

Sadly, you're often right. I'm awfully sad for you and your dog. It's a crime that we get to love the little twerps so much......well maybe not..... Charlie

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is the same as losing a family member.

I have two chocolate labs, they're my kids since mine went off to college. I'm so sorry, I so understand how deep the loss of what others consider a dumb dog can be. On the other hand, the only reason you hurt so bad is because you loved so much. The pain goes away and the memories stay. Keeping you in my families prayers. Guiseppi

I'm so sorry, Allen. Try to keep in mind that life holds as many highs as lows. When you've experienced a lot of lows for a while, it can be hard to keep your perspective. Hang in there, honey. I'm sending prayers. hugs, nani

I wouldn't know what to do If I were in your shoes now People and animals have some sort of mental bond they find you in most ideal scenarios. But I would be crushed if something happened to Chloe. I feel for ya... I'm sorry. 'Bus
