Hi everyone. Have had migraines since 1988. Also have Episodic Clusters. Have tried everything from all meds to headache clinics etc.. Seems like all that works is the narcotic meds. Have not worked now for 2 months. Having a Brain Angio in 2 weeks. Not sure what else to do. Luckly I have good understanding Dr. and ER. Many times need to be at hospital for many days to control the pain. I am working with Nurosurgeons at Northwestern(Chicago). Anyway glad to be here. Hope to learn from everyone. Thanks Billy

G'day Billy, and welcome to the cluster-go-round.  You buys your ticket and takes your ride.

Importantly, are you sure it's clusters?  There's other conditions that mimic it so it's important to get it right.  Try the cluster quiz over on the left and see how you go.

Also have a goodly look at the sections on oxygen and water - both remarkably effective for a lot of people with various problems and pretty much risk free.

All the best and stay in touch,

Brian Down Under.

HI BIll Ray,

You say you have Episodic Clusters?

My friend,

Do you have Daily chronic Migraine too?

the reason I ask this is becasue there is no doctor worth their grain in salt and that is knowledgable of CH that would perform Brain Surgery for an episodic CHer

OR

is the surgery for something else that is wrong other than HA.

Good luck and research because their is plenty of information on treatment that makes living with CH relatively tolerable for Chronic CHers and episodics.

BE well

Eric

Hi and G'Day. I have been told by my Drs, nuros, HD clinics that I have both migraines and Clusters. Have migraines almost all the time. But the clusters hit with no warning. I feel very sick but usally do not throw up.

Pain is unreal and above the right eye. The reason for my possible surgury is that I have a tumor that they think is not letting the blood flow from my brain like it should. So this may then trigger the HDs.

So I am waiting to see. The tumor can not be removed but they hope to bypass around it. It seems like when the CLUSTERS hit all I can do is go to ER for heavy meds to break the cycle. Thanks for the warm welcome.

I am just searching for ideas. Having been doing my oxygen and drinking more water. Take care.  Billy

Hi Billy.
Hope the angio shows progress can be made.

A note; I would check with doc on effects of excess oxygen on existing tumor, might cause further problems.
or better yet kill the tumor.
