Hello all; As a 14-year sufferer of this horrible monster I am so very glad to have found this board today. I can't believe there are so many people who "feel my pain". Currently, I'm in week four of my first cycle in almost 3 years. Some days no clusters, other days 4 or 5 clusters, almost always around an 8 on the Kip scale. No discernable triggers, but most cycles have happened in the spring or fall. My Dr. told me 6 years ago that there wasn't much I could do about it. Exercise sometimes works, other times makes it worse. It looks like this board is filled with different tips and ideas - I plan to try all of them. My heart really goes out to everyone on this board. J.

| Well, that's a crock! Welcome, Joe, and sorry you had to find us. There is no cure, but there's plenty you can do about it. Look here for traditional meds: http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf Look here for a promising alternative: http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=meds;action= display;num=1110584362 And, another very promising alternative: www.clusterbusters.com I suggest you find a good neurologist who has a clue about CH. In the meantime, read, read, read. There's lots of great info here. pain free wishes, nani

Hi, Nani gave you the best of the links there are in current existance! Please read them. There are much better treatments available besides heat/cold/exercise/caffiene, etc. (though many here prefer these and I find them helpful for shadows). If your doc has no suggestions for good abortives like Oxygen, Imitrex, etc., then find a new doctor first. There is a treatment or a combo of meds out there that can probably help you. Follow the links ..... Hugs, Kris
