triggers....

Kind of embarrasing intro, but here goes  -- I have had 4 "episodes" and all were triggered by bowel movement.  I have read and read, and cannot find one reference to this being a trigger.  Has anyone heard of this, and if so, was there a therapy that helped??

Thank you... Embarassed

hey smedical,

welcome to the site. i can't say that I've seen anybody ever cite a BM as a trigger before. that doesn't mean it can't be so as a lot of us have strange triggers.

a lot of folks have a great sense of humor and your post may elicit a few funny replies. my first reaction was to say the following (which I have now veiled in a thinly sensitive first poster reply):

"Haven't heard of that but you might want to check out Frank's post from earlier:
http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=funnies;acti on=display;num=1126721663"

but seriously, as folks vascular pressure in their head can be affected by forcing out a dump, you might find that this is what could be doing it. unless of course, like many others, it is aroma-triggered, and then, well... never mind.

outside of that I can't give you any more serious of a reply, as hard as I try.

do you have meds to knock back a hit? Are you using a regular doc, or neuro?

Scott

Does the above statement mean that you have ONLY had four headaches?

Especially if he's episodic and only "trigger" once a year.
