hi my name is eric i am from florida i have been dealing with cluster headaches for about 4 years now and i can use some different opinions from other who get them. i am at the point where 4 times a day i am wondering if its worth dealing with it anymore. i have gone to the neurologist and she put me on predisone ond depakote my clusters went away while i was on a higher dose but as soon as it went down to like 3 pill a day i got them right back and the depakote dosnt seem to do anything. i have heard about the mushroom thing but am very skeptical on trying it . any advise anybody has will help. thank you verymuch

Hi Eric. Sorry you are suffering. I have known for 35 years that hallucinogens can break apart cluster attack, and they can also act as a powerful anesthesia. In small doses trip level highs can be avoided with possible excellent results..(read the LSA or no longer chronic threads). What some of us might suggest to you is that you drop the skepticism for a bit and get all the info you can about kudzu and then visit clusterbusters.com to get more info about what is working for people in the alternative medicine arena. I am not saying that you should stop anything that appears to be working for you. I used to take huge doses of morphine daily and Imitrex, but both became ineffective and were actually making my condition worse. Remember these are my results and my opinions. It sounds like the meds you are currently using are not working that well. In my case I couldn't stand being hit 8 times a day with migraine in between and severe insomnia...I was willing to try anything. I hope you find some answers to help you in your battle with the beast. Blessings, Joe PS. See the oxygen link to the left also.

Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH. (2002) http://www.brightok.net/~mnjday/chtherapy.pdf

Hey Eric, I'm n florida too. My neuro is a good one. I posted his info under this same board, Knowledgeable Neuro in Hollywood, FL. He prescribed O2 for abortive, which for me the past week or so has worked better and faster than imitrex. Hang in there and be strong. Jose
