The Beast and dating

Happy easter folks! I was wondering if somebody else has any experience with The Beast and dating.. I've been dating a girl, and a week ago I spent the night at her place. The Beast shook me awake @ 3 in the morning with a 7 blaster. I got up and went to the bathroom. I tried to keep quiet, but there was no helping the stuffed nose and tearing eye. She woke up and wondered what the hell was going on, so I told her I was coming down with a cold. The next hour or so I was lying in bed chewing on my teeth (Think am gonna need to get them capped), trying to keep from getting up and do the tango. But what the hell does one say huh? I ain't gonna let this shit ruin my sociallife. Was trying to get an appointment with a neurologist, but it was a 3 month waiting list goddammed! Think am going to give that prednisol a try. Max

Hi Max Gets embarassing doesn't it, I know everyone is different but when my partner saw my eye tearing I explained what was gonna happen. The look of horror made me think... this is it... the end of something special... but here we are 6 months into a wonderful relationship and I was in cycle when we met. So take heart Max, I know it is difficult , but if you can try and explain, then it won't come as too much of a shock when you have an attack. I wish you luck and PFDAN's.

Be honest with her dude!!! If it's hard to explain or if she's even worth the explanation in your mind and heart then try giving her that "colleagues letter" from OUCH, that'll help explain it easier especially when we all get "oh a HA" look or face. Don't let this thing rule you! But part of fighting it is having to realize it is there and as you arm yourself "she" should be armed so as not to freak out. If she is worth it to ya.......If not just enjoy whatcha can Stay strong and positive, E

So far, I've gotten hit twice in front of dates, and needless to say they never called for another date. Go figure. Now if there is any chemistry between me and a guy I give him the low down on this disease first, and if he's still interested, and not out to sell himself, I'll see what happens. Too bad it never gets that far... Dateless now for months...quit counting the actual days.

I always carry a little eyeglass screwdriver with me to pop imitrex vials out. Last night we were out and the lens poped out of her glasses. Voila! Quote:I told her I was coming down with a cold. |
| Why? Why dont you tell her you get Cluster Headaches? Quote:Now if there is any chemistry between me and a guy I give him the low down on this disease first |
| Thats the ticket. If your going to be with someone it's a package deal. Its part of who I am. Accept it or keep walking.

| I gotta agre with this. If you lie now, you'll have to explain your lies later if the relationship goes anywhere. The other person might start wondering what else you've been lieing about. Scratch an otherwise healthy relationship. How does it go? "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive."

I was kind of lucky, in that I was married 2 years before I got this lovely package from the beast.....lol Sometimes I feel guilty about making him suffer through these bouts with me....but then again, Christopher Reeve was normal and healthy when he got married, and his wife was a peach to stick around..... When I started getting the headaches, we didn't know what was going on, and he kept asking, "Doyou want to go to the ER?" In the middle of a big "10" I was like I don't want to live another second, no I don't want to go to the ER... I don't want to goooo anywhere!"...wink But we are still a team, and we are facing it together, just like we face mortgage, grocery shopping and lawn mowing...together.... (of course I am on my own in the laundry dept, but he changes the oil in the cars so I guess we are mostly even....) As far as dating, 1st date....no way.... but if you think it is quality, like Double E says, let them read up and see what's what. I do'nt know many men who were fore-warned about PMS before they tied the knot with their women. so you know, fair is fair.... wink.... best of luck. Even my co-workers don't know that much about it. I just say I am in extreme pain, but it should pass in 40 minutes....and I dash somewhere to hide.... they don't really need to know more than that, do they? If I had to make a cut off, I would say if I was dating for more than a month, I would let them in. But just to the movies or out dancing once or twice ...no way.....

| Sort of hard to NOT let them in on it when during one of the innitial dates, you have to beg them to drive you home, pull out your needle and pop one with him in the seat next to you, roll down the window on that cool rainy night and stick your head out while he's flying at 55 MPH to get ya home... Needless to say I never heard from him again.

Tell them way before you ever have a ha. That way you can verbally exaggerate in every way possible... (I know there is no such thing as exaggeration from us to the GQ public. ) Then when they see it you just have to calm their "OMIGOD ARE YOU OK!?" and "WHAT CAN I DO!?" feelings, (or tell them to leave you the fuck alone before you kill them)... It's much better letting them know there's not shit they can do about your pre-disclosed condition than "NO! NO! Please dont leave! It doesn't hurt anymore!" Condition... "Put the fucking lotion in the basket!!!" It's about the same thing unless you warn them.

The beast had been with D for a good many years before I came along . . . but, for me, it was easier knowing what was going on than it was being left out in the dark .. . .I prefer knowing the enemy . . it allows me to fight back better *g* Max, if she runs when you try to tell her about them, or if she runs after seeing this site . . .either she will regrouop and be back, or she's not the right girl . . .but, honesty is best . . wouldn't you rather know up front? hehe, and if o2 works for you, and if she's the right one (at least for right now), you can keep a set-up in her closet and she can grab it for you if you get hit *g* *positive light and energy* miapet

Happy Easter Max. Been married to the same wonderful woman for 21 years and she married me knowing that I suffered from several maladies. Love is love . If they have some of those Oxygen Bars where you live, maybe you could meet a gal there, that likes pure o2....of course then you might be fighting over the mask. . Best wishes and remember there is someone for everyone. Your time will come. God bless. Joe
