Hi, I am a female and I am chronic. I am on verapamil and lithium and am going to try the Kudzu mineral everyone has been posting about. I have been reading here for awhile and have learned alot so thanks alot.

Hi Candy...welcome! If you are on verapamil and want to try kudzu, please watch your blood pressure. Kudzu also has calcium channel blocking properties, so if you normally have low BP, you should space your med doses accordingly and keep an eye on it. Yes, Floridian has done some amazing research here but - we are not medical professionals at this website. We cannot (and should not!) advise you with regard to mixing medications!
Lithium is also a strong drug. Please talk to your doctor before you add something new to your treatment regime! Kudzu obviously has very strong properties, otherwise we wouldn't be seeing any results with it!!

Candy, odds are good your doctor has never heard of kudzu or what it does. If you want to discuss this with him/her print out this page and bring it to your next appointment. Many of us are using it with great success along with our other prevents. I have been able to stop lithium altogether. I have high BP, so I don't worry about mine going too low.

Listen to Margi here. You should talk with your doctor (and it could't hurt to talk to your pharmacist, either) before taking any type of herbal supplements. Lots of people hear "herbal" and think "safe." Herbals can interact with prescription meds just like presciption meds can.
Better safe than sorry where your health life is concerned.

What abortive do you use? For many of us (70%), including me 02 works wonders and quickly if used at the proper flo rate and with correct regulator and mask. Read the oxygen info (left of screen, above the yelllo OUCH link), copy and take to your doc (requires prescription). Due to high cholesterol and arterie blockage, I can't take triptans and 02 is my only abortive . . . never without it.
