Wanted to post in the new member area, but I'm in one of my terrible headaches, so I don't know if I'm doing this right. I found out about this sight on the Discovery channel this morning. I am sorry that you are all suffering from this stinking problem. I have had it for at least 30 years coupled with RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). I feel like I've been a test rat for different medications. Right now am taking 45mg morphine sulfate, Imitrex and Zanax for the RLS. Was run over by a car in 1961 and dragged on my head for quite a distance. Keep praying for a miracle. Thanks for letting me talk, those that are closest to me have heard it too much. Joe

Sorry to hear about the headaches, but glad you are learning more and that you found us. You should take the cluster quiz (left menu bar) - it will give you some idea if you have clusters. Then talk to a doc about your diagnosis. Morphine and narcotics are not the first choice for clusters (nor second, maybe not third) - a few people report benefiting from them, but not many. Imitrex can be useful for clusters and migraines. Oxygen is also very useful for many of us.

Unfortunately the Morphine isn't for the headaches. I have had 3 major abdominals and several parts removed and because I grow too much scar tissue they are worried about surgery on my herniated discs at c6-c8. Wish I didn't have to take it as I have gone thru Methadone withdrawl twice, but the Morphine isn't as debillitating. I appreciate your advice and concern. Joe

Thank you Karen. It's great to be here. I used to think I was just crazy and so do most people right now right now. I will slowly but surely lead them to this site so they can see the truth about this illness and the symptoms. I took the cluster quiz and my symptoms fell into almost every answer, I just didn't realize how far into chronic I was. I am not eating chocolate anymore, that's for sure. I'm in my 14th straight day of severe CH cycle and I'm almost out of meds so prayers to get thru to next rx is most welcome. My pain switches sides of my head and I develop a large lump in the back of my neck, eye on effected side swells shut with watering and sinus run as well. Prior to bad onset I get weak, lethargic and I have a tendency to see things from periphery of vision and my eyes feel very strained. I am a musician and I like loud music and laying out in the sun, and being from Seattle area you know that's rare. Talking about things helps so much and I know I'll get thru this one. Thanks again! Joe
