First I would like to thank all of you for all the information about cluster headaches, I know have a good idea of whats been happening to me (with out a Dr's diag..... not having insurance sucks ) I have been getting my clusters again now for about 2-3 weeks, at first (at least this time around) they were 1 every 2-3 days, now I am getting one or two a day, and every time it seams they are getting worse. Good thing is that there only lasting about a half hour or so, sometimes less. My big fear is getting one when Im driving and crashing the car or something. I last remember getting them about the same time last year, but didnt think to much of it cause the episodes only lasted a few days and then went away. Even then they werent as bad as they have been now. There are times when I just want to rip my eye ball out of my head and stomp on it to try to kill the pain. I can about imagine what I looked like in Wal-mart the other night during one, I was doing the full "dance" right there in the isle. At least now I know there is a place I can go (here) and talk about it. My wife is worried that I have a tumor or something, looks like she has a lot to read now when she wakes up But anyway, thanks again and its time to start reading all the posts (or at least some of them).

Hi eric...welcome and sorry you are here. You will need a diagnosis in order to get the help you need. It's a good idea to rule out other, more potentially life threatening issues. Since you found us though, print out the info you think fits and take it the dr with you. CH can't be cured, but it can be treated. Have a look around, ask questions and hopefully you'll be on your way to some relief. Pain free wihes, nani

Just a quick update... I just woke up with one of the worst ones yet. I would have to say a 8. And this is the first time the beast has woken me up to play his game.

More often than not, I get them when I am sleeping, then after a while, they invade my morning, etc. You probably don't have a tumor if it is CH, but we can't really diagnose you. Your doctor may want to run some tests to rule that out, but 99+% of the time, clusters are not due to a tumor.

Eric, have you done the cluster quiz? And do read as much as you can about CH. Then you can know bit better once you do go to see a doctor. Some neuros don't know much about CH, though. For your sake I wish you don't have CH... Best wishes & PFdays, Sandie

Well its official. Just got back from my Doctor today and I have cluster headaches. He gave me some samples of Imitrex (tablets and nasal spray) and wants me to try them both to see what works the best. And I got to try out the spray in the car on the way home. At least I can say that it did work, and it was fast acting. Im still not sure about the tablets though, but I'll give them a try and see.
