Thought I out grow them

Hello everyone. Its been 4 years since my last eposide(torture). I came here last time and it helped, gave me a lot of good information. I feel a little guilty for not visting the sight when I was in remission, but to tell the truth, I tried to forget. Now it's been 5 weeks into this epsoide and the last week has been really bad. Shadows are always with me now. Sometimes I think this nagging pain is just as bad as the cluster attack itself. Imtrex shots work, but can only get so many a month, only use them on the worst ones. Was able this time to get the right O2 setup. That's really helping but I'm so sick of this crap. You know what I'm really sick of is people trying to tell that its just stress, something I ate, etc.. People at work saying "oh, its just a headache, I come to work all the time with headaches." Yeah right, take one on these and see if you still say that. Does it ever get an easier to deal with this? I mean will the day come when I won't lose my mind during an eposide. Because I feel like I'm going insane right now. I'm ethier crying and sobbing like a little baby or I'm so pissed of that I want to hurt someone.

Hi Scott, I'm sorry you are suffering but welcome. Hopefully being amongst the rest of us nutters sufferers will give you some support. I don't think there is one of us here who hasn't contemplated murdering a colleague or family member at some point for sayig "its only a headache" or something of that nature. I'm glad you have O2, I find it a great help, have a look at some of the other treatments and therapies on here, there is alot of really useful info. Shout if you need any help! Helen

Hello Scott, Sorry to hear your back in cycle but you have found a good place to be. I think eveyone of us can relate to your story. I think when everyone is diagnosed with CH they should receive a pamphlet on how to not strangle the people with little understanding According to my sister I'm just a drama queen looking for attention cause I don't want to go out of the house in cycle But the good news is there is alot of meds now to help with CH may not cure it but it can help to make it somewhat manageable. Look around this site there is so much to learn here I have found more info here in 2 weeks than I have in the 19 yrs I have had them! Good luck to you Maureen

Hey JohnO Don't know why 4 years and then bam. Usually my headaches came in the summer months, 2 years remission normally inbetween. Never had a epsiode in the winter. Do yours normally come in the winter or summer months?

Welcome Scott, Sorry to hear the Beast is back. 4years. WOW. Glad to hear you got lots of PF time though. Hang in there. Imitrex & 02 is great for aborting. Check the meds section here. You may be able to slow down the amount of hits if you can find the right combo of prevents. Take it one day at a time. You'll get through it. PF vibes

I once went 7 years without an attack. I am a 47 year old male who started getting clusters at the age of 17. I've been through the mill with all the different meds, Doctors, hypnotist, you name it, I've done it, or taken it. Even had TWO teeth pulled, boy, was he some einstein! I finally got to a place that gave me relief. When I was young, they came alot. As I've gotten older, they have gotten longer inbetween cycles. Hang in there, you have us to talk to. I wish This kind of group was around 34 years ago.

Wow, me, too. Three years, I think, between bouts. And I am 57, close to thirty years of suffering. It just is not fair tohave to go through menopause and think that this is behind me and now here it is again, worse than ever. But after three weeks I think (hope) it is leaving me behind. I wonder where it goes when it isn't torturing me. I found this site many moons ago before it got all modernized and everything and it was (and still is) a great support system since I live in a fairly rural area and don't know anyone else with clusters. My oxygen supply place told me they have 5 other customers who get oxygen for headaches but of course they can't tell me who the people are!

I am so sorry that you have CH... and the hard time it has been giving you lately. I understand very well that you wanted to forget having CH in the first place. I'm a chronic so even if I forget them for a while, the daily pain soon reminds me... Does it get any easier? For me positive attitude has helped a lot. Not what comes to the pain nor the amount of daily attacks but it has altered my own attitude towards CH - I don't let them control my life entirely. They're part of my life, but not all of it. I wish you nothing but the best. Good luck with your battle against the beast! Keep your spirits up! PFdays, Sandie
