Hi everyone, this is the first time I participate on the message board. I have had C/H's for some 18 years now! Just started a new cycle of C/H's this past week. Have gone 2 years without one single C/H, thought they were Gone. Had three last night, almost inhaled the O2 bottle dry. Anyway, I have always releied on this web site for information, it's great. Many thanks for all the information throughout all these years. I live in south Louisiana, cajun country, and know of only a couple of people that suffer from C/H's. I think I have been on every med. out there in the past 18 years. O2 is still the best, and of course Imitrex. Doc. wants me to start on Topamax(Never tried that one???) Anyway, I have monitored the message board during cycle's and all the discussion's have helped me make it thru each time, knowing there are alot of us clusterheads out there. Getting ready for the next round of C/H's, I will stay in touch. Many Thanks Again!!

Hi ericblue! Welcome to the board but sorry you are afflicted with CH. Topamax seems to have inconsistent results for CHers with some having some success and others not and there are side effects. Good luck with it all and I hope your cycle ends soon! All the best Filbert.

welcome Eric - hope you find what you need to get through - you will of course, keep strong! Since you're not on any preventatives yet, would you try water water water - it kicked my cycle in the butt. Its hard to begin with but you soon adjust and its worth trying especially early in cycle like you - one glass EVERY hour from the moment you wake, and from 6pm ramp it up to every half hour to really mess with the night hits. You need to drink every bit this much, and you will need to write it down so you dont forget. It worked for me the very first night Worth a try? If you do, tell your doctor, also take vitamens, I also took magnesium (2 x RDA) during all this, not sure if that helped or not wishing you well CC

Welcome to the board, Eric Believe it or not, we have a few sufferers who live in Cajun Country. Four I know of who live in the vicinity of New Orleans. I live in Texas, but have a lakehouse on Toledo Bend Lake, on the Louisiana side. I love Cajun Country. I think the folks there are some of the greatest I have ever met. Hopefully in the next couple or three months, I plan to go to N.O. and meet up with the group there again. If you have time, you might enjoy meeting another sufferer face to face. It's a great experience! If you like beer drinkin', gumbo, margarita's and chit chat, you'll have a good time. Good luck with the meds.....hope you have lots of PF time. Stay in touch and let us know how you're doing. PF vibes, Jean

Welcome Eric, Sorry to hear you have to deal with yet another cycle. Try some melatonin before you sleep. Sometimes it can get you through the night. Topomax does help some of the Clusterheads here. Hope it works for you too. Take care.
