G'day from Down Under

G'day from Oztralia, Firstly, I'm brand new to this computer stuff so forgive me in advance if I manage to muck things up. Fair dinkum, though, finding this website near brought me to tears. I've had near thirty years of CH and nobody understands me blub blub blah blah etc. Nevertheless, if there's any truth in our current understanding of the thing, I bring news - YES, they really DO taper off as you get older. You know, we're probably the only people in the world who actually look forward to ageing! All the best to everyone, AussieBrian.

G'day Nani, Firstly, give mooshie a hug for me. I have a supporter, too, and have always wondered if it isn't harder for her than it is for me. As for when it tapers, I can quote only personal experience. In my case it has, so at least there's light on the horizon. All the best, AussieBrian

Howdy AussieBrian! Welcome to our little corner of the net. Sorry you have a reason to be here, but damned glad you found us. This is the best place in the world for information and support for cluster headaches. So, tell us a little about yourself. What are your symptoms like? What works for you to get you through an attack? What meds (preventative and abortive), if any do you take? What have you tried that didn't work? It all adds to the collective knowledge of the community. Lots of good reading in the links to the left and on the OUCH website as well. You might find some info to help you there. After suffering for 30 years, you might be able to contribute something as well. Again, welcome. Pull up a chair and chat a spell with us. Gator

And a g'day to you, mate. Glad to meet you but sorry you had to come. I'm 49 and haven't noticed any tapering yet. Should I wait longer or complain to someone about this? I'm a newbie as well, just found the place yesterday after 15 or so years of CH but being treated for everything else under the sun. Anyway, good to meet you. All the best Jack

G'day micksheadhurts. Owyagoin? Crook we had to meet here not the rubbedy but nice to see a cobber aboard. I was feeling lonelier than a pork chop in a synagogue. Dinkum, don't these seppoes talk funny. But we're up against the same brick wall, speshly when it comes to finding a decent vet. They're mostly thicker than two short planks and reckon your swinging the lead. Best bet's to print off some of this stuff and stick it in the sky rocket for when you go. I'm PF just now so I'll have one for you this arvo. Cop ya later, AussieBrian.

Hi Aussie Brian! You give hope to us all, glad you have found SOMETHING good about ageing to make up for (in our case) saggy tits, wrinkles and droopy bottoms. Welcome to clusterland Wendy the Brit P.S. Sorry about the comment about criminals, only joking

The gods had condemned Sisyphus to ceaselessly rolling a rock to the top of a mountain, whence the stone would fall back of its own weight. They thought there no more dreadful punishment!

Sisyphus, Yep, it's Cairns, and anyone from CH.com who's visiting should get in touch for all the local info. Ronnie, Sorry 'bout that. Which bits did you miss? Us Aussies have a big advantage in that we don't have an accent. It's only people from other parts of the world have one. AussieBrian.
