Just saying hello. First time on the site but a ch sufferer for 31 years. I was pain free for 18 months (longest ever) but came back with a vengence two weeks ago. I am sitting here waiting for the return in the next few hours. I know its coming.

It was nice reading other life stories here, and understanding what others feel. I just spent two days in Chicago at a meeting where I missed much of it and people don't understand how I can be ok, than order dinner at a resturant, than get up and just walk out.

I hope I can add something here!

Stick around - you'll learn a lot around here.  Most of the regulars are in Nashville at the convention right now - but next week they'll all be back and you'll find a ton of help.

Glad you found us but sorry you had to go looking.

Thank you for saying hello. I realized after joining yesterday the new people (me) should give a little background.

This saga began for me in 1977 with a sudden onset which was quickly checked by doctors and told:
1.you need glasses
2.you need to have your wisdom teeth removed
3.you need to relax
4.you need to stop drinking
ect,ect,ect

In a few years found a doctor who understood and at least started me down a path, which lead me today where initrex injections make these periods bearable.

In these 31 years of headaches I have tried the majority of medications listed on this site. I have not had good luck with any preventitive meds, just the initrex injections. My medical insurance company just notified me I would now be limited to 4 per every 22 days. I will be fighting this but I spent a quick thousand this week on shots. They must understand that we would pay anything.

Thanks again to all who post as reading this site yesterday was very powerful. I hope I can add something.

I don't see oxygen on your list. Have you tried it? It works, is cheap and it's safe.

On the left side of your screen is an 'imitrex tip' button. Go there to learn how to stretch your imitrex from 1 to 3 shots.

Let us know.

Welcome - Glad you found us, but sorry you had to.

Ditto to BobG.  Use the Imitrex tip to the left.  If you're queasy (like me) about sticking yourself several times with the same needle,  there are several of us who can give you alternate ideas on how to safely split your med.

But also ditto on the Oxygen - it's been a godsend to many on this board.  You might consider it, if you haven't tried it already.

Hugs and Best Wishes,

Kris
