One long week

Hello to everyone  and thanks to for all the information on CH. I guess like everyone else, I just thought I was having a "regular" headache, the stress, tension sinus variety, until I realized my sinuses were not stopped up and I have nothing to be stressed about.  The first one hit me last Thursday at 2am and have been reoccuring at about the same time every night. Had one at work and finally called my doctor. That was Wednesday morning and his diagnosis was Cluster Headaches, I thought ok, give me something to take, I'll go home and things will be back to normal....Wrong!!

With the exception of Thursday night/Friday morning they have occuring more regularly. After a 4pm attack today I started looking for more information online and found CH.com.

First thing Monday I'm calling the doc for a referral to see a specialist.

Thanks for a great site.

Hey Blake. Sounds like you're on the right track by getting to a neurologist now. The sooner the better. Read all you can under the buttons on the left side of your screen. That will put you in a good position to know if the specialist knows about clusters. And the more you know the better you can ask questions about your treatment.
Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Your off to a good start, proper diagnosis is critical NEUROLOGIST!!! Stick to your guns. Don't be afraid of a second opinion, I have been to 4 neuroligists through the years some can be .......frustrating. Dont be afraid to start charting right away. Its all about communication.
Best of luck.  the bbz   John and Joan Bebee

Welcome,  your lucky to have been diagnosed so quickly.  For some it takes years.  Just to be on the safe side though you may want to have an MRI done.  Just to rule out anything else.  Good luck to you.  You may want to try some of the OTC treatments first.  Melatonin(sp) is the most common.  Many have found relief from it and it's inexpensive.  Good luck and PF days to ya!

Hey Blake!

Not much to say that hasn't already been said but welcome to Clusterville.  Hope it's a short cycle and that you find a good doc.
