The scent of fresh blood

All covered in fresh blood, a vampire bat flapped into his cave, parked himself on the roof and attempted to get some sleep.
All the other bats smelling the fresh blood began hassling him about where he got it.
After several attmpts at telling them to go way! And let him get some sleep!, he finally gave in.
"OK, OK, follow me," he said as he flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him.
Down through a valley, across a river and into a forest of trees they flew.
Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him.
"Now, does everyone see that tall Oak tree over there? The one with large twisted branches?" he asked.
"Yes, Yes, Yes!" the bats all screamed as their frenzy grew.
"Good!" said the first bat, "Because I didn't!"
