I paid for a farm and cow for what a new car cost now.
Cannot afford to farm the land with the price of fuel especially when I have to hire a hand.
Farmers have always been hungry, and that aint no joke. Life is hard for the farming folk.
Sitting here on all this land, cannot afford to fuel the truck for the hand.
Hand cant drive---out of gas--Today is Easter, this too will pass.
Plenty of hay to get through spring, but who knows what the prices will bring.
Krogers is calling for my next haul, My daughter demands to be taken to the mall.
I refuse to spend a penny to fire the John Deer---not till I see a few bucks roll in here.
I await payment from Krogers, Bob Evans, and Piggley wiggley too. Food must wait a bit longer for folks like you.
Cities are wealthy, proporous and rich, Them folks dont ever work in the ditch. When it comes to feeding the poor, they ask the farmer----and nothing more. No thanks ever given for produce in the store.
Prices are high, and prices are low. Its the cost of living dontcha know. If I cannot afford to hire a hand, its gonna become hungry across our land.
With hunger there is theirvery, crimes that will rise, unlikely the farmer will preside. Most likely it is the judge with his hand out who will decide. Is it ethicall to allow the criminials a free ride?
3 hots and a cot aint a bad deal. Tell this old farmer from who may I steal.
