airplane flights

Hi all, I will be taking a plane trip (about a 5 hour trip) in Nov. and typically I get killer attacks on the plane and so have not taken a plane trip in a year and a half. Now need to visit my son so..... I have Zomig nasal spray now; is there any danger in taking it on a plane, due to airpressure changes etc.? Will the caffeine/analgesic thing work also?(It works for me on my "every night" attacks.) Can I do both the caffeine and the Zomig? Has anyone done the caffeine/analgesic as a preventive on the plane? I also take a decongestant on all plane trips as I have trouble with the pressure change upon landings. Does anyone know if using any of those meds negate the use of the other? I am open to all suggestions. (I know about taking a prescription for O2 on board, but the O2 doesn't take the pain away for me. I am also on Verap. all the time.) Thanks for any input. Madaline

You will have no problem with the things you mention, I also use Zomig NS (Its a life saver for me) and I fly often. Give your doc a call just to be on the safe side, whats good for me may not be good for you......better safe than sorry

I dont use those meds but I used to use the Trex nasal. I fly quite a bit and keep the nasals I have left just for the flights so I dont have the hassle of the needles and security. All I use is trex inj and O2, wish I could be more of a help... Matt

I travel quite a bit with my job and use Imitrex nasal (along with Verapamil) when in cycle. I've never had a problem using the nasal spray on a plane and it has been a lifesaver on several occassions. Best of luck - I'm sure you'll be fine.

I always travel with a healthy stash of trex SQ, never been stopped or questioned, just bring the script, just in case. I usually boost up my caffeine intake, sleep is always my enemy when he's in town. Zomig does give me some extended relief and I do take it with caffeine amongst other things. Anything that works is my rule.

| Yeah, maybe have a few beers or glasses of red wine in the airport lounge before you take off too. Maybe a little pungent aromatherapy pillow over your shoulder once you get seated. (pardon the sarcasm ---- for the uninitiated don't do these things) Scott
