hay everyone, the pain drama never ceases. *sighs deeply* i have just returned from 2 days in the hospital. it seems the inderal ive been taking for maintance, caused me to have a chest-wall pains, my blood pressure sored 180/120, and oxygen was at 45. truthfully, death was welcomed, so the grippin pain would end, it took 3 nitro's to snap my heart out of it, and the headache that followed was monsterous. *clusterheads-up group* PROPRANOLOL - ORAL Pronunciation: (pro-PRAN-oh-lol) BRAND NAME(S): Inderal View images View Images WARNING: If you have chest pain (angina) or heart disease (e.g., coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure), do not stop using this drug without first consulting your doctor. Your condition may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. If your doctor decides you should no longer use this drug, you must gradually decrease your dose according to your doctor's instructions. (i would rather suffer w/ the ch than heart pains) depressed & sore, ^kat

I'll also add that Inderol, a beta blocker, is normally prescribed for migraines but has very, very limited effect on clusters.

Sorry to hear about your nightmare....... Nitro is the worst thing for CH's. Its actually used in studies to induce them. Its a very potent vasodilator. Does wonders for angina & heart failure. Good luck.

Sorry to learn of your trouble. I have very good results with Inderal for my clusters. I didn't take it as a preventative so it took a few days to get up to speed. I just didn't need a sustained dose of it along with other drugs I was taking for my seizures. It doesn't seem to have a great track record here though. Charlie
