Ok all this is a happy sad moment. Something good has come out of the no insurance. The place I get my O2 has gotten rid of all the charges and is letting me have the O2 through the school year. Man I am so indebted to them I don't know how I will ever thank them enough for what they have done. Does anyone have any ideas? I have toyed with several but just don't feel like it is enough. PF wishes...............Kim

Regardless of other things you do. (1) Send a "Letter to the Editor" describing their generosity into local newspaper(s). (2) Make sure to send them a good letter of thanks and send along clipping(s) of the published "Letter to the Editor). (3) Stay loyal to them when your situation improves. These are some of the best thanks you can give any business. Tom

| Good choice, Kim. I'm sure they will appreciate your gesture, and any good word of mouth you can do to send customers their way. Patti

| As a business owner who sometimes dallies in good deeds I would disagree with point number one, unless you run it by them first. Sometimes we donate our services/product and really don't want others to know about the specifics, as you become a mark for every other non-profit, or people looking for something for nothing. (I know that sounds a little cold). A hearty thank you is always appreciated and referring others who are able to pay for their goods and services is even better. Just my two-bits on that conversation. Very nice of them. Scott

Agreed - a referral for a business is like gold. My marketing courses that I've taken told me that 80% of your business comes from 20% of your clients. Think about it. You're thanking them in a very good way if you send them more clients. Pay it forward!! SO nice to hear that there are still good Samaritans out there! Thanks for sharing the story, Kim!

I agree with the NO to #1 (as a business owner). If you do write a letter to the editor - do NOT mention their name as they would have everyone in town wanting something free. Sending them referrals is a great idea. That's how businesses survive. Glad for your good fortune. Hugs BD

Good catch on my first recommendation - I should have been clearer. When we lost our private bridge during Ivan our cement contractor saved us at least $10K by providing reduced labor and forms for new bridge piers and swapping out our twisted steel beams for new ones that he had in his yard. The costs were still considerable but his generosity was a blessing. In our letter to the editor we were careful not to mention "Free". Instead we referenced his business, how honest they were to work with under such circumstances and closed by adding we could recommend him to anyone. We wanted to provide advertisement for his business - not flood him with calls from folks looking for free-bees. I still recommend him to everyone I know that is planning concrete work. Tom

Unfortunately in the medical field I am not allowed to be biased toward one supplier to another but I can list them first and for most elaborate a little and then list the rest. Since most listen to the first one anyway. I know that I did and I am a nurse . Thanks all for the advise I really appreciate them all. Kim
