[color=Blue][/color]what is going on with me i got told i have cluster head aches by my dr and thats it no pain killers no nothing in fact i think the tratment is rarther sh**y and i dont know what the hell a cluster head is all i know is that i am in agony real bad ive had this headache for 3 months day and night its around my eyes my face ears and jaw all the dr did was gve me a ingection , but i can not cope am taking paracetomol dihydracodine ibrufubrin by the pack ful am quite worried ill do something my liver the amount am taking but i cant help it i feel like am dying god someone give me a break  i can not cope i wana hit my head up agaist the wall i cant go to work and ive lost my job so am living off my parents i have no life now it wont stop when it eases off whch it does it kinda comes bad and then easers off many times a day i dont understand and if i start to move about when it goes easy it comes back worst i dare not move my head i know it sounds stupied far fetched or like am just been pappy but am really really not i feel like am dying and i hate it can someone please tell me whats going on and is there any speacliset doctors that i can see is there any treatments ? thing is id never even heard of a cluster head ache before this ?

Hi!
first, cluster headaches aren't constant.
they last an hour or so and then go away, nearly completely, and them come back quickly, so if you have:
"had this headache for 3 months day and night"
then you probably don't have a cluster headache.

Doesn't sound like cluster headches (plural because nobody gets one cluster headache).
Cluster headaches usually last from 15 to 90 minutes. They go from 0 to 10 on the pain scale in 5 or 10 minutes and they stop just as suddenly. They are only on one side of the head. If yours is around both eyes it can't be cluster.
I'd go back to your doctor and tell him he's wrong.

Please clarify this. Does it come and go during the day or is it constant.

no referal at all the pain eases off but the slightest activity brings it back on its intense and brigtness makes it worst sunshine watching tv going on the pc ect ect
ive had about a couple of days where i have been pain free in the last 3 months but if i was to get outta bed and go to the gym bang it comes bback on how i was told that i had it was i had a bad head pain and then my eyes swelled up and runing and then they closed the dr was called out he said the head ache was a cluster headach and the eyes was a rintivnus ? i am none the wiser
he gave me a ingection of hydrocortisone 100 mg and some pain killers but no referal when i have the head ache it can all of a sudden like a real high pain last like 2 to 5 mins then dye right down to a dull ache its like a dull ache and evey so often a intense like wave comes lasting 2 to 5 mins then returns dull this can happen evey 10 mins for hours i dont have flashing lights so it cant be migrane ? am as confused if not more then you oh i also get swelling cos at first i thought i was coming down with mumps lol sorry i cant be more helpful but am working in the dark

oh also this sounds mad but if i clench my teeth togther it makes it worst lol werid or what the dr who told me it was a cluster was a nighttime call out gp locom i have had no blood tests or scans or anything like that oh i also found the only drugs that kinda work well that work better is kapake and dihydracodine these was given to me but they are high dosage that i go to sleep i wake and its not there but if i move about like go to the gym horse ride or look at anything bright or even nose am very senstive to sound then it comes back genrally worst its in waves 1000 mg of paractomole dose not help at all ( i do have crones diesese and take a range of painkillers like buscapan ect for that and they dont help neither )

That info helps a lot for better insight. Not CH, but I think it has a familar pattern to another type. Those who are more familiar with recognizing these traits will know.

What is Hemicrania Continua?
Hemicrania continua is a rare form of chronic headache marked by continuous pain on one side of the face that varies in severity. Superimposed on the continuous but fluctuating pain are occasional attacks of more severe pain. Symptoms fall into two main categories: autonomic, including runny nose, tearing, eye redness, eye discomfort, sweating, and swollen and drooping eyelids; and migraine-like, including nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound. The disorder has two forms: continuous, with daily headaches, and remitting, where headaches may occur for as long as 6 months and are followed by a pain-free period of weeks to months until they recur. Most patients experience attacks of increased pain three to five times per 24-hour cycle. This disorder is more common in women than in men. Physical exertion and alcohol use may increase the severity of headache pain in some patients. The cause of this disorder is unknown.
Is there any treatment?
Indomethacin, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), usually provides rapid relief from symptoms.
Other NSAIDs, including ibuprofen, celecoxib, and naproxen, can provide some relief from symptoms. Amitriptyline and other tricyclic antidepressants are effective in some patients.
What is the prognosis?
Patients may obtain complete to near-complete relief of symptoms with proper medical attention and daily medication. Some patients may not be able to tolerate long-term use of indomethacin and may have to rely on less effective NSAIDs.

I'm not qualified to give you a diagnoses of clusters or any other headache condition. I know that you're frustrated and looking for help - as a 10yr. CH sufferer who has experienced my share of frustration with Docs. - I understand that. It is not uncommon for doctors to be unfamiliar with a variety of headache conditions.
It is important that you find a doctor who specializes in treatment of headaches. I have had the best results with neurologists practicing as headache specialists in headache clinics. A good Doc. who is familiar with a variey of headache conditions that is willing to conduct proper testing is critical to getting a valid diagnosis.
Best wishes on your search - I sincerely hope you will find a good Doc. who will diagnose you and work with you to establish effective treatments.

You've gotten some good advice. I'd ask your doctor for some Indomethacin. It might work wonders for you. If it doesn't work, it won't hurt you. Well worth a try.
