Switching sides

Anyone else have their clusters switch sides. I"ve always had them on the right side (maybe starts on the left the first couple of attacks but always shifts over to the right) but this time they are all on the left side. I used to get one episode per year but this is my second one after having one about 2 months ago.

Yes, I switched sides. For the first 12 years I was episodic with right sided headaches only. The past 5 years I've been chronic with left sided headaches 90% of the time. Unsolved PS. It's not that unusual for CH's to switch sides. Just not during an attack.

Like 98% of mine are right side. I get hit on the left occasionally, and it freaks me out. I am used to handling things on the right. When it hits on the left I feel confused. I hate it. Casey

It's when they switch sides during a cycle I hate it the most. I call them 'wildcats" and they knock the stuffing out of me. Especially as they never settle down to a routine - makes it hard to cope.

In the beginning they switched all the time. Lately I've become a rightie. Every now and then they switch to the left. BF

Predominantly a lefty but do get the rouge hit on the right, and yes, it does freak me a bit at the start as it ramps up.

Always have been a rightie until this year. Just finished an 8 week cycle on the right, one blissful month of no pain, then bang! hits on the left side. Not every day, at no particular time, and not very hard hits, but CH for sure.

Interesting. Almost exactly like mine. I usually have yearly cycles for about 4-5 weeks. Always on the right except it mostly starts for a couple days on the left. Just finished a cycle about two months ago. Got over a nasty cold and bam....left side clusters. I have noticed that as soon as i get over bad colds with coughs, that my friend reappears.

| I don't have any switching of sides (always left for me). But your comment about the bad cold with cough caught my attention. I had just gotten over some junk that hung on for over a month. The coughing caused headache, as colds with a cough often do. The brain sloshing, type though - not cluster attack type. Within a week of recovering, cluster cycle began. This after several years without any cluster cycle. I believe the physical stress of being sick coinciding with spring time and perhaps allergy caused it to kick in again. Best wishes for you to be pain free, Rich

mine seem to pick new side each new cycle and remain on the same side for the duration, funny thing is that i'd rather get it on the left side, it seems to hurt a little less, anyone else find this?
