Hello all,  About a month of kip3-6 pain scale and it has been nice I guess.  It was tolerable not gone but tolerable.  Well yesterday I got hit with a kip 7/8 and my sinus is all stoped up and I am feeling pretty intense shadows today.  My neck is driving me insaine it is so tight and knoted up from the head pain that I can't turn my head to the left without pain shooting up into my head.  Last night I took a muscle relaxer hoping that it was a muscle spasm and not my usual but I was wrong Roll Eyes.

Coffee is my friend at the moment hopefully I can wored of the beast for a little while.  Have the day off and that is a plus.

I have forgotten what it feels like to be PF.  Been at this going on 8 months now as a history update.

I am just typing this because I know that you all understand and I know that it bothers my husband so much that the pain is always here.  I have nobody to talk to but you all.  I appreciate those that read.

Thanks
PF wishes.......................Kim

madOk rant and rave time.  I hate insurance companies.  Head is hurting with pure frustration.  Just found out that I have been turned into the collection agency cbecause the doctors impatient on getting payment.  They could care less that I am waiting for doctors to answer questions (x2doctors).  Of course the doctors have recieved three or 4 letters and now another is coming out.  I am going to cry I can't take care of all these damn bills myself.  They are pileing up.  That is it I am not going to the doctor anymore not until I can afford this...  Hell my insurance ends after this month and I am on my own.  Man this is sucking more by the minute. Crap I don't know what to do.  What if I am not approved we will have to pay all those bills Cry

School is about to start.  Thank God I have the  GI Bill to pay for that.  Hopefully I can get a pell Grant as well. Undecided

Ok better stop.  Just worrying and the hubby is gone so I am venting to you.  Sorry...............Kim

Kim I just got off the phone with my son who was also in the army.  He is in the middkle of filing a VA claim, had an appt today as a matter of fact which is what clicked when I read your post.
Anyway he said to take your DD-214 to a VSO (veterans service organization) and they will have all the information for you to get some help.  He said that if you had clusters while enlisted you will definitely get some assistance.  And since you are in the little apple you can go to Ft. Riley instead of a VA hospital. Hope this helps with some of your frustration.
My son's mother-in-law is an army chaplain and she knows all the ins and outs so if you have any questions I'll try to get them answered for you.
Hang in there.
The other Kim in KS.

Hey Kim,
I believe as long as you had a honorable discharge you still have VA benefits.    What you should do is go to the VA Hosp & see their Docs, a bit more limited but you should be covered as a vet.  They are very flexible & understanding.
You also have the social services option, also know as medicaid, depending on your income.  Usually medical collections is private & does not affect your credit.  Try to deal with city hospitals & not private ones,  city hospitals will be more helpful & are more familiar with financiallyy limited patients.
If i can be any more help........ don't hesitate to reach out.
hang in there, & hey if its that bad go to the hospital & get medicated there.
I work in hospitals, & if you really tight & need the care but can't afford it & don't want to go in collection you don't have to give your real name or info.  They have no way on checking or tracking this.  Believe me, I have done this for people who cannot afford it.  Hang in there.

Hang tough Kim.  It's easy to forget what being pain free is like but keep going - tell yourself every day that tomorrow will start a remission.  In my case every day of dissappointment is also a day of encouragement - may sound strange but it has kept me going for years.

My wife and two children desperately try to understand something that they can't begin to comprehend.  You have to experience CH attacks to understand them and that's what makes the folks here so special to us all.

"I understand your pain" has real meaning here.

Would the owner of the propane torch, egg beater, pipe expander and vise grips please claim these items. They're lodged in my head and I need the space.

Was Honorably DC from the Army but didn't have CH at that time so there isn't any documentation in my records therefore I am not covered for this problem.  Unless things have changed since I got out in 02???  Tell me more.  The closest VA hospital is 45 min away in Topeka, KS Undecided

Phil really appreciate the information.  I will try and check into it.  If you have anymore I am all ears...

Kim,  any honorably discharged veteran can receive medical treatment at a VA clinic. Period.  Even if its not service connected.  They may want financial information to figure out what kind of co-pay you have, but they should help.  If you tried to register at the nearest VA clinic and they turned you down raise hell girl-a grateful nation owes you something.  This is coming to you from another veteran-I go to the VA for non-service connected needs and have a small co-pay.  You may be able to get help at the nearest military facility.
Hang in there-

Kim, go to the nearest VetCenter...run by the VA but separate from their hospital part and specialize in getting vets benefits that most vets and organizations don't even know that you may be entitled to..cost nothing, they will do paperwork, find a free representative for you at VA benefits hearings, etc.  Go, Go, Go!
