First of all, HANG IN THERE! Be strong and fight. You are much stronger than it is. You have everything to look forward to, don't let this stop you from enjoying your life.

What meds are you using? Have you tried oxygen to abort? It's been very effective for many of us. Look on the left for the Oxygen info link.

There are some alternative treatments that have been giving promising results for some. Read up on Kudzu, LSA, and psilocybin on the Medications board.

You are not alone with this. We're here to help you get through this. I'm sorry you're having a bad time right now, but this too, shall pass. Tell us more and maybe we can offer more help. Pain free wishes, nani

First of all, Know this we ALL have been where you are at!! I am there now and I know alot from this site but you have to just keep trying. And I am not going to tell it isn't like hell cause it IS and you just let go and vent and cry and whine. That IS one of the reason we are here because we DO know how you are feeling. But also like Nani said you need to read and read and ASK as many questions as you want and need and NEVER worry about asking dumb ones, cause there isn't any! Hell, I do it all the time!! Tell us what you have tryed, and we can start from there.

Best to start by understanding that there are potential options for controlling your headaches and that you are not alone.  You just need to read the boards to to see that folks here do understand.

I signed on here for the same basic reason - I didn't know what to do anymore and needed to find someone that understood what I was going through.

Some basic questions that will help others to better understand your circumstances.

Do you see a neurologist?

Have preventative meds. have been prescribed?

Have abortive meds. have been prescribed?

Simple questions but the best place to start.
By the way, nani was the also the first person to greet me when I arrived.  I've learned and improved significantly since.

In the meantime hang in there.

You can beat this.  Say to yourself the beast can not beat me.....Ok.  Live life to its fullest when there aren't attacks.  Trust me I know that is hard to do when you are constantly wondering when the next attack is going to come.  I had to take Lexapro for depression and decrease my anxiety.

You need O2 it is going to be your best friend if you don't already have it.

Melatonin if you have trouble sleeping at night and the beast wakes you up.  6-9mg.

Read Read Read Read...............................

Tell us more about yourself so we can better help you.

Hello again Murphy,
When you tried oxygen, were you using pure oxygen at  8 - 15 lpm and a non rebreather mask? The correct usage can make all the difference. All that info is over in that oxygen info link.
Do you see a neurologist or headache specialist? Sometimes finding the right combination of preventative and abortive meds takes some time. A knowledgable dr will go through the process with you and help you find what works for you.
I've been chronic for 5 years. I tried many different drugs, too. The meds helped me keep the intensity of the HAs lower, but not the frequency. In February, I started using kudzu supplements. That has made a tremendous difference for me. Look at the links contained in the link below and read all you can about it. If you're currently using any meds, it's important to pay attention to potential drug interactions. There are other alternatives as well. Please take some time to look at them. Also, check your messages (top of board on the right).
Hang in there, sweetie....you can do this. hugs and pain free wishes, nani
