i posted about my neuro a few times but i figured id ask if you guys think these are really clusters. Heres my story. April 17'th I got this incredible stabbing pain in my eye, went to the er, they said go to an eye dr. Went to 2 eye docs who both said theres nothing wrong with my eye(At this point never heard of clusters)went to my primary doc 4 times cuz the pain in my eye kept coming every day, she had no idea what it was finally went to see the infamous neuro who diagnosed Cluster migraines but my only symptom is the excruciating pain in my left eye, sometimes it waters like hell but not everytimeMRI and ct scan normal. well anyway been having these pain everyday since, sometimes it feels like a knife in my eye other times like its being shoved out of the socket, and when its not excruciating it still feels like someones pressing on my upper and lower eyelid, almost 8 weeks now, what do you think, oh yeah they never wake me up at night but happens off and on all day, im so depressed its not even funny cuz i dont know when it will end

It sounds a lot like clusters to me. My eye doesn't water every time either... How long do the attacks last? Ever get any at night? Ever try Oxygen?

Go through the cluster quiz on the left of the page. If you answer correctly most questions, probably is cluster. There are lots of questions around how long your HAs last, what happens to your eye and nostril, etc. Also check out the kip scale to see if it remints you of "you". Talk to your neuro, we can't tell for sure. Here's to hoping it's NOT clusters!!!

How long does an "attack" last? There are several HA that are similiar in their autonomic features to that of CH yet are different in duration and are responsive to different meds.

Head pain is head pain. I agree with all of the previous posters. Lucky you are not being thrown out of your bed at night as clusters are impossible to sleep thru. Clusters are not always the same in everyone. Do you notice any specific triggers to your onset of pain..ie. hard work, stress, smells, weather etc...Hope you don't have ch but if you do you are in the right place to get helpful info and support. You're describing my cluster pattern to a "T". There are a surprising number of eye disorders which present as headache but, I assume, the eye doc would have ruled out these as a source of your pain. Good source of basic info on treatment--the next step. Here is a link to read and print and take to your doctor. It describes preventive, transitional, abortive and surgical treatments for CH.
