| uh, don't think so. Lee Kudrow was a pioneering neurologist (now retired) in search of a cure for cluster and his son, David, continues in his footsteps. But I don't think Dr. Kudrow was a sufferer himself, though. He did discover the lidocaine therapy though.

Maybe Thomas Jefferson. Upon reaching majority in 1764, Jefferson came to inherent the 2,750 acres of land left him by his father. In this way he officially entered into Virginia society. And while Jefferson spent significant time amongst his elders, he also made acquaintances with his contemporaries. He shared rooms near the college for an extended period with John Tyler, father to the eventual eleventh President of the United States. In addition, an early disappointment in love came during this period, when he unsuccessfully attempted to court a highly sought-after sixteen-year-old by the name of Rebecca Burwell. With the frustrations that accompanied his failure in this regard came the first of many severe migraine headaches that would sporadically plague him throughout his adult life.

From Max (in the movie Pi): Quote:When I was a little kid my mother told me not to stare into the sun. So once when I was six, I did. The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal. I was terrified, alone in that darkness. Slowly daylight crept in through the bandages, and I could see, but something else had changed inside of me. That day I had my first headache. Failed treatments to date: Beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, adrenalin injections, high dose ibuprofen, steroids, Trager Mentastics, violent exercise, cafergot suppositories, caffeine, acupuncture, marijuana, Percodan, Midrine, Tenormin, Sansert, homeopathics. No results. No results... |

| no really, i overheard some special on tv this morning about hemingway and it mentioned that his father suffered from "severe" headaches which was a contributing factor to his dour outlook and subsequent suicide (after he noted the tingling in his feet -- being a diabetic he knew things weren't looking good for his future). Then read something later that Ernest himself also suffered from severe headaches (among other issues obviously).

http://www.pithemovie.com/who.html RE:- MAX COHEN RUMOUR CONTROL > Max Cohen is a real living legend in computer science, the renegade number theory genius who dropped out of Columbia ten years ago and has built a big homemade supercomputer in his apartment in NY Chinatown. His mission is to predict movements in the NY Stock Exchange. Cohen believes that any system complex enough to be "chaos" must have a natural order within it, and that this order can be cracked by number theory. I've heard he is getting close. His senior thesis, in which he proposed the idea, was published by Horizon and became a sort of collector's item and running joke among Wall Street types. But last year, a stockbroker at Lancet-Percy somehow got hold of some of Cohen's stock picks and played the market with them...just before the big Asian downturn last year. Butterfly effect? You decide. Cohen is also supposed to be a migraine sufferer, and very shy. Some people say he is really crazy. I guess time will tell if he's a genius or just another obsessed dropout. “Crazy, genius, obsessed dropout” – Classic symptoms ben
