What day is this?

Returned from a trip to Missouri, seemed to be having only minor shadows until another one of those out of nowhere bam, machete to the temple kip 10's. This one didn't respond to cold air or fiorinol so we were off to the ER. 50 mg Benydryl, 50 mg Nubain, 50 mg Phenergan. I lost a lot of time in there somewhere. And feel like hell now. This has happened before and I always say I am not going to let them do this to me. But in the grip of the beast I am so desperate to be free of the pain I forget. So, now I not only have lost a couple of days, and feel hungover in spades (but didn't get to enjoy the party) I'm having a rotten rebound headache. And if that wasn't enough...I awoke from my stupor with a friggin' chest cold. Which I probably picked up at the ER. I think I should have a warning label posted on my forehead "DO NOT TREAT THIS PATIENT FOR HEADACHES NO MATTER HOW PATHETICALLY SHE BEGS UNDER PENALTY OF DEATH"

Sorry you were hurting so much Those ER hangovers are nasty. I hope you continue to come out of the fog. Will you please check in again with us today? Be well, lionsound Oh-there is nothing wrong with going to the ER if you felt you needed to go. Do not second guess yourself.

Yes, Bob, I hear you. Nearly died of a staph infection a couple of years ago picked up during surgery. Nine days of IV antibiotics...now have no usable veins...there goes my ambition to be an IV drug abuser when I grow up. Anywho...the fog has lifted but the elephant won't get off my chest. Had planned to swim this afternoon but think I will just be a slug. Thanks everyone for the care and concern. Kim

Countless times I begged my spouse to take me to the ER, and countless times I would either go in and then refuse treatment, or sit in the car in the parking lot. All of this because of previous memories from ER treatment....but somehow knowing I was right there in the parking lot or in the exam room, I felt as though relief was there if I absolutley couldn't stand the pain. From one Kim to another, I feel for you, take care.

Boy, timing is everything. My cold morphed into a fullfledged sinus infection complete with sinus headache. This as I am tapering off Topamax. I have been noticing progressively stronger shadows but so far no major hits. I am down to 50 mg am and pm and wanting to drop to 50 daily but am afraid. Anyone know the half life of this stuff? How long before I will see a drastic difference once I stop completely? The up side is I am already seeing a difference in my memory. Not struggling as much to "find" words. But it did keep the beast at bay for the most part so you can appreciate my apprehension at giving it up. Guess there is always a trade off. Being chronic you don't have the down time to find an alternative. I think kudzu is next. Hoping for the best....like finding it.
