You know the middle of the night machete to the temple with no warning?
I had never had one of those during the day.  Always had a warning of some sort.  They might ramp up fairly quickly but never instantaneously.
Have others had this experience?  Is this atypical  or something new with which to look forward?
I guess I should explain that this happened to me Sunday.  Bam!  Out of Nowhere.

Yep --

This morning I got woke up with about an 8. Woudn't you know it -- I set the damn coffee pot wrong and it wasn't made! Grabbed a coke while the coffee brewed and tried NOT to think about my head. The O2 wasn't helping much and I wait (usually) too late to take the cafergot (I hate that stuff).

Finally between the coffee and O2, I finally got it down to about a 4 and thought myself lucky. All day I've been on edge (with my eye watering and my nose running) waiting for it to hit again.

I'll be glad when the weather settles down. The barometer is going up and down at will right now in Texas and every time it changes - my head kicks into gear.

I'm not having a great day either.........

Wishing you PF wishes.....

Hugs BD

Looking back it had to comical for any spectators.  We had been at a wildlife refuge for my husbands company party and had just arrived at our car to leave when it hit.  O2 and other abortives quit working for me years ago...the only thing that helps is freezing em out...usually cold air...so my husband turns on the car hit the air conditioner (the outside temp was about 56) and closes all the vents except the one nearest my right side.  So here I am half in, half out of the car, moaning "oh my God, oh my God" with my right eye plastered to the air conditoner vent.
We live in a very small (pop. 450) rural town where I am still considered an outsider after almost 20 years.  I can just imagine the field day peole are having with this.

With the day hits your mind has time to prepare.  With the night time hits they're all ready at full strength before you wake up.  Night time hits are by far the worst.  Ask a doctor and try melatonin.  Has helped alot here. PF wishes coming to ya.  AND NO MORE NIGHT HITS!!
