What does everyone take if one comes on in the evening? I'm going to the doc today and I need something.  Mine tend to almost always start around 2pm...it took 10 doctor's to finally diagnose me with cluster headaches...they all kept telling me it was sinuses or allergies...so annoying.  Also, for anyone on Topamax..does it make you exhausted in the day? I'm so tired! Is there anything to wake me up???

Take your Topamax dose at NIGHT before bed. I slept while on it and was pretty alert during the day. The doc told me I might be tired, but it seemed to hype me up instead. Everyone seems to have a different reaction to it.

Try Melatonin at night (about 9-12 mg). It will get you thru the REM sleep (where the CH appears).

Good luck.

court-
Just curious, did you mean 2 AM?  You'll find out that one of the classic symptoms of CH is being awoken from sleep with an attack.  The melatonin is definately a good start, give it a try, it helps with the onset of sleep, and alot of CH people have a lack of it (both sleep and mealtonin that is  Wink )

Meletonin and having O2 at the ready were my tools of choice.
