Have a follow-up with my Neuro tommorow ... get the results of my MRI / MRA -- I suspect if they had found a problem I would have heard something by now (had the scans about 3 weeks ago) ... thankfully the cycle is over and done ... Do you think it would be out of line or the Neuro would see the humor in asking for some 5 x 7s of the brain to frame ... He might miss the humor ... The scary part would be to get the pics and there is nothing but blank space ...

LOL, Tony! We all know your scans will be normal. Just one more step towards the correct diagnosis of Cluster Headaches. So glad you've survived another cycle. Do make sure your neuro or his nurse provide samples to store away for next time. I've found a cool spot in the basement works well for preserving medications. PF Wishes, my friend, Kris

Thanks Kris !! I've got some refills on my trex ... plan to go ahead and have them filled one after the other (as soon as insurance allows) -- will have them on hand to fight again when the time comes !! I really do want pics of the scans... thought about having one blown up and framing ... getting a scan of a rat brain and captioning it "THEM" and the grossly overproportioned pic of my brain as ME ... hanging them side by side in my office ...

He won't give you 5 x 7's and you can bet they will be normal if they were taken 3 weeks ago and they didn't call you immediately. I got a blow-up of one of mine. It's cool. The MRI of the brain comes on several large sheets of plastic about 15" by 18" with about 10 pics per page. The pics are like negatives of photo film. A written report comes with it. When I got mine many years ago I asked the doc for the pics and report and he said sure, you paid for them. I cut out one of the pics from one of the pages and had a friend who had a photo enlarger blow it up to 10" x 12" and print it. The best pics are the lateral shots of your brain that clearly show your eyeballs too. Bob

You got it Bob. They were normal, normal, normal -- No aneurysm , no other bad things lurking under the hood aside from a defective hypothalimus. That is a relief in and of itself !!

| Personally, I think it would be totally appropriate to ask for 5X7 glossies. I had an MRI Tuesday and definitely ASKED if they FOUND a brain. When the nice little girl said yes -- I DID ask for some 8X10 glossies. She's getting them for me. Hugs BD

Funny you should say that Barbara ... I asked the girl who did mine the same questions ... Needless to say, I got an odd look but she didn't humor me...

Hi, I'm glad your MRI came up trumps for you! re: keeping copies of the scan, my one came out in all these different colours. It looked beautiful. So you see, some good things do come out of bad!! Take it easy Marta

Tony, great that everything was okay... I never got to see the pics of my brain, though. That would have been cool!

ToniG1 Forget the Doc, I asked the radiologist to burn me a CD with the MRI jpegs on it and he did it for me no problem. Got a full set of high quality pics of my own twisted head through and through.
