Sorry to hear it Ouch. What brand of Kudzu and dose? I had a mixed bag at first until I got up to the recommended daily. How much melatonin? Are you sleeping lying down? Some of us have to sleep propped up or in recliners to keep those damn hits from hitting high kips at night. Wishing you a PFN, Joe

Ouch - this is usually where I hit the Medrol Dose Pack (6 day prednisone taper). I usually get at least 3 full night's sleep before the attacks come back.

Thanks guys.....as far as meds... Topamax 100mgs, Lexapro, and the Melataonin 10mgs at night. I have tried several different things at night and no combo seems to be working. Still having several a night. The Dr. also prescribed a med called amitriptyline 25mgs to help sleep at night, but that has not helped. Vig.........not sure about the brand or dose on the Kudzu the bottle is at home. I will get back to you on that one. I do know it says take two tablets three times a day. Thats about it on that. Got it at the local hearbal store recently.

None of the med that you are on are really very effective against CH pain; the non-prescription meds. have no real scientific basis that prove that they do anything. Topamax is a drug for epilepsy that works for some people with CH, but no guarantees. Amitriptyline is an old fashioned anti-depressant, brand name Elavil, which many docs use, in low doses such as you are taking, to help people sleep-it is not intended for that and can have some unpleasant side effects. I recommend that you go to a neurologist-if you are seeing one, then go to one who knows about CH; I would also recommend that you ask for a proper sleeping medication-docs give Elavil because one of the side effects is drowsiness, but that will wear off and in any case will not give you proper sleep (nor help you with depression if that is what the doc thinks that you have, at least not at 25mg and there are much better anti-depressants on the market now. Elavil is a dinosaur and was one when I started practicing 30 years ago). Good luck.

Sorry Ouch....hang in there. Have you tried oxygen or the triptan drugs, like Imitrex? Go back and talk to your dr about these. And verapamil, too. I would definitely stop the Tylenol and Nyquil. Like miapet said, they're probably making things worse. Good luck and PF wishes, nani
