Ladies please sign in...

First of all thanks for reading this post. My wife is in menopause and I was wondering if any of you that are taking Kudzu have noticed a lessening in problems relating to this. She is now scratching severely and benadryl causes her to be groggy in the morning. If you are not taking Kudzu and still have some ideas I would greatly appreciate them. As she is our families main financial supporter I am trying to help in any way I can. Wishing you all PFD&N's. Blessings, Joe

As a menopausal lady I can comment. I don't have need for Kudzu yet, though, since out of cycle. Please tell your wife that the onset of menopause brings on many new and exciting experiences. This includes sudden onset of allergies to things you've never been allergic to before. Personally, I love mangoes. Have eaten them all my life without a problem until I turned 47. Long story short ... ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction to mangoes. The itching could be due to a new allergy. It could also be due to changes in body chemistry associated with menopause. She needs to see her Gyn doc. I also highly recommend Dr. Susan Love's book on menopause. She devotes many chapters to natural methods of dealing with "the change." That includes herbal remedies. Best of luck to both you and her! Kris

Hi Joe, In my experience, my allergies have increased a little, but I also know men who become more allergic as they age. Since I use Benedryl as a sleep aid, I can understand your wife's reaction to it. If she is itchy in not too big an area, have her try topical Benedryl creme. That will eliminate the groggy effect, and it helps for a few hours. Also, there are some oatmeal remedies for the bath that are supposedly very effective. Hope this helps. Pat
