Hi snook and Buzz...it is frustrating and exhausting. I've never taken Topamax, so I can't somment on it. I have recently found something that seems to be working for me. Look at this thread and read it all the way through. It's long, but worth reading. There's a lot of technical info in the thread, but you can just look at the posts that apply. I sincerely wish you luck with this. Pain free wishes and lots of hugs, nani http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=meds;action= display;num=1107368408

Welcome Buzz. Don't give up. As Frank said, "Hang Tough!" I've never had to try Topomax, but many here have had some pretty intense side effects from it. Clusterhead treatment is largely trial and error. If it's making you worse or giving you bad side effects, you just have to try something else. You're lucky to have a strong supporter. You hang in there too, Snook! Many Hugs, Kris

Well hot damn! Glad you could drop in and say hi. Sorry things are going so rough for you just now. With regular insurance companies, sometimes they will give you more of the meds you need if your doctor will write a letter of medical necessity saying how many you need. My neuro got my insurance company to give me 30 Zomig Nasal Sprays per month even though they normally only approve 6. I don't know if it will work with the VA. Even though I spent almost 10 years in the service I can't use the VA because, "we make too much money." Friggin news to me. Barely getting by is making too much money these days. ACK! Enough of that. Anyways, the letter of medical necessity is worth a try. The worst they can do is say no. Again, I want to welcome you to our little corner of the funny farm. Snook, thanks for everything you do. Wishing you some pain free days and nights (PFDAN).

Nice to see you here, Buzz! Welcome! Frustration is familiar to me what comes to CH... I'm seeing neuro again in March. This time verpamil isn't working too well... But I've been there before. CHit happends... I am afraid sometimes with some of my friends that I'm turning them into my CH therapy group...but then again is talking about CH any different than talking about bfs and gfs? Don't think so. Anyways, I hope you're PF soon, Buzz. All the best for both of you, Buzz & Snook! Wishes, Sandie
