And more sinus related stuff...

I had my initial appointment with an ENT today.  I did not go due to congestion related to cluster headaches.  I really went because of scar tissue left over from when I had a tumor removed at age 16.  That was 8 years ago, and the ENT who did the surgery has retired.  So I went today because I can't really breathe thru my nose, I have frequent nosebleeds, and constantly have sinus infections/congestion.  When my sinuses are blocked, it makes my HA's a lot worse...every kind.  Seems to also *trigger* clusters for me, as I mentioned in my last "sinus" thread.

Well...this doc is lucky he caught me by surprise with his little scope thing!  Holy crap...  He stuck that thing into my nose and straight down into my throat.  Then did it on the other side of my nose, too!  I about choked to death.

He said I have a deviated septum (which now after doing some research...could very well be from my tumor surgery...since the septum isn't done growing until around 18 years of age) and several structural issues.   I'm going for a CT scan on Thursday early morning.  I certainly don't want to create more issues for myself by causing more headache problems...with surgery, etc...but if this could actually HELP by getting the sinuses straightened out and therefore triggering less headaches, that would be cool.

Unusual appointment with an unexpected outcome, but I'm willing to check it out!
