Shorter cycles and less pain.

Hi, I've noticed that during my last 4 cycles, in a period of 4 years, the duration of them as well as the level of the pain is much less than when I take any medicine (Triptans, oxygen, etc.). The pain may reach a 7-8 Kip Scale, in the most severe attack, but it never lasts more than 35-40 minutes, 3 times at night and 0 times during the day, the entire cycle may last no more than 2 months. Now, with plenty of medicine, my cycles lasted up to 4 months, and the level of pain was never less than 9 (Kip Scale), 4-5 attacks at night and maybe 1 or 2 during the day. What I'm trying to say is that, the more pain I can take with 0 (cero) medicine, the shorter the cycle and a lot less of attacks.

I agree 100%, but the opinion is split here.

Religion and sex are powerplays. Manipulate the people for the money they pay. Selling skin, selling God, the numbers look the same on their credit cards. Triptans cause rebounds. Learn it, believe it, live it. I use triptans as the absolute LAST RESORT when treating my CH.

I also agree 100% but when you're in agony that imi shot is sometimes too tempting to turn down. Filbert.

Agree no meds is a shorter cycle. Do meds/Trex and have a longer cycle, or suffer until it's over with no meds. I'm episodic and for me, there is no such thing as KIP6 or lower. It's to the top or stop with Trex. Anology: You must go 20 days with no food. On the 12th day you must sit in front of a nice juicy warm steak just off the grill. If you eat it, you must start all over. If you don't, you only have to wait another 8 days. You can't have your steak and eat it too.

I also feel extremely tempted to have some medicine and then go to sleep like a log, for let's say, 6-7 hous... But guess what...?, the next attack will be so, but so strong that it finally gives me the necessary strength to hold with no triptans(or any medicine) at all. For some reason, please don't ask me what reason is that, I suspect that this illness of ours, needs to be experienced by our mind/body/soul, or whatever, as raw at it is, and then our organism reacts faster and begins to re-gain control over it. I've also lost the panic to go to bed and try to get some sleep because of the incoming pain. I simply go to bed, I sleep as much as I can, till, as you all know, the devil pays me a visit, so I hold my head with both of my hands, and I stay seated somewhere at home till the devil goes away, and so on. I need no less than 3 painfull weeks, in order to adjust my will and spirit to resist and keep on going, after that I'm able to talk to the pain 'go ahead, I'm here, try me', I almost wait for it, I know that after those 30 minutes of pain, I'll be able to sleep again. It is very important to sleep as much as possible, otherwise the number of attacks may also increase. It is no a matter that I like to suffer and I don't try to abort an attack, this is something that has happened to me and it helped me more than Docs. I've been dealing with this so called CHs, for more than 15 years, and I also think that Docs knows nothing or very llitle about this.
