Hey everyone, hope your Christmas is better than mine. We got to spend it at the ER, hubby has been having stomach and chest pains with vomiting since yesterday, this morning he thought he was having a heart attack again so off we went. They thought he was in the middle of a heart attack too, so they gave him 3 doses of nitro and asprin and transfered him to a hospital with a Cath ward his BP dropped to 52/58 they put him in the ccu and ran more tests, come to find out it was not his heart, it's something with his stomach but they don't know what, and because of the nitro he is getting a severe headache which has in the past triggered the clusters so now he's on morphine and hopes this dosn't start a new cycle. They are going to keep him overnight for observation. Just another wonderfull day in our lives. All I'd like for Christmas is to have a normal life again.

So sorry to hear of your trip to the ER...I hope the docs are looking into what caused his BP to drop so low. Hope your husband gets better real soon. Jimmy

Well they let him come home today, they gave him some morphine right before they released him his head and stomach still hurts. He will be going in for a cat scan to see if they find anything. His blood pressure apparently dropped because of the nitro they gave him, they had to pump him full of fluids to get it back up, this isn't the first time his bp has dropped they think it's because he gets dehydrated but are not really sure, his last heart attack could have something to do with it, especially since half of his heart is dead, they put it this way - a normal person's heart runs like an 8 cylinder car after his heart attack he was a 6 cylinder, now they say he is like a 4 cylinder. As I've read on here many times before any vibes, prays and hugs are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey LILBOO --I am hoping and praying that your situation improves......As for the ER using Nitro----Three years ago the FDA approved another drug/type for CHF----It is called Natrecor----( Scios WAS THE COMPANY THAT MADE IT, THEN THEY WERE BOUGHT OUT BY jOHNSON &JOHNSON)....The reason I tell you this is that it immediately gave the hospitals another alternative to Nitro....The clinical trials on Natrecor were fantastic and it made a ton of money for J &J. It also DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME EFFECT AS NITRO !!!! iF SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS AGAIN ( and I hope it doesn't) ask your doctor---better to ask a Cardiologist about Nat---hope it offers you another alternative.

Lilboo, I'm so sorry to hear you and your hubs had such a miserable holiday. Nitro - that is a major drag! I will be praying for your hubby and sending vibes, hugs and all my best. Stay strong and if you need a shoulder to lean on, there are many of them here. Peace, Carl
