Pics from Thanksgiving trip to Portugal

As you may remember, my wife & I went to Portugal over the thanksgiving holidays to visit her family and to get some R&R. I was looking forward to drinking the Port wine, especially since I'm not in cycle at the moment, and eating Codfish, a portuguese staple. I've never posted pics, so here I go. I hope it works. Here are some pics (Sanna, you wanted to see them!): This is pic of Bacalhau (codfish) with Broa, a sweet cornbread, baked with loads of olive oil and very DELICIOUS: Picture of city of Porto, in northern portugal, known for their Port Wine wineries. It happened that the day we were there, the local soccer team Porto was playing a European Champions League match against Glasgow Rangers of Scotland. The town was taken over by drunken, disorderly scottish fans. If anybody cares, the game ended in 1-1 tie. Here I am smoking a cigar and drinking a glass of port wine (can't see the wine in the pic), in a bar next to the river in Porto A visit to the Taylor's Port Wine winery: My wife with her godmother in a town called Sintra: My wife & I with her 2 great aunts and one of their husbands. The one sitting down is 90 years old! My wife and I in the town of Estoril. They used to have F1 races there: On our last night, my wife's godfather uncorked and unbelievable bottler of 25 year old Vintage Port wine. We drank it with some sheep's cheese and crackers and it was awesome. He gave us 2 more bottles to bring home!

I spent 1 1/2 years at the Azores. A Protugees island in the middle of the Atlantic. Thanks for the pics; brings back lots of memories. The Portugees used to have festivals every weekend taking turns hosting at each different village. They would competely block off the roads going through the town. The only way to get through was to drink a glass of wine and eat homemade bread.

Bro, Ive been there. As a matter of fact, i have some pics that look just like the second one down......but its in Lisboa. It was awesome there, i have never seen such old history in my life. I also went to Madeira to sample some of that wine. Well worth the 3 day boat ride. Congrats, bro. I wish I could have tagged along with you as your butler. PF wishes BMonee
