| No. But this day is still important to me. It has always been. I'm very patriotic woman and my years abroad make me even more a Finn. My grandfather was fighting in wars back in 1939-1944 to make sure that Finland would also stay independent. Two of my great uncles passed away during those years. To us Finns independence isn't something to take for granted. Today we recall those men and women who lost their lives in battlefields and made this all possible.
