Update about my knee

I went to see the doc the other day. He twisted and turned my poor leg and some of it hurted pretty badly. Not as bad as it did on last Sunday, though. The doc didn't find anything wrong with my knee, though. He said that I should wait and see for few days (until Wegnesday) to see what happends because some knee injuries heal just like that. If it still hurts, then my knee will be X-rayed. And then I'll book another appointment to see the doc about it. Yesterday my knee felt just fine! It felt like a small wonder to walk down the stairs without feeling pain. I keep my thumbs up that my knee will be fine just like that. Sanna

That's good news Sanna, I'm glad it doesn't sound like something serious and that you are feeling better

Sanna, glad your feeling better- here's some help if ya need it later. I have had problems with my knees since forever due to slightly misshappen knee caps and years of beating the crap outta them thru gymnastics. Basically, the cartilage in both knees is shredded and had to have surgery on the left on to clean out the debris- ugh and seriously NOT fun. When and if it flares up again, I HIGHLY recommend staying off it as much as possible for a day and putting ice on it to keep any swelling, however slight that might be, down. Weather changes, cold damp weather especially make mine ache, so I have to be a little gentle on them during those times. Don't turn suddenly, bend a little slower, etc. Treat your joints nice You might want to check out some physical therapy exercises to strengthen the muscles that support the knee, that's a big help too. If you are carrying extra weight, you might be surprised at how losing just 5 or 10 lbs can take so much strain off the knees. OTC Anti inflammatories like ibuprofen will also stop the aches far better than aspirin or acetameniphine. I hope you never have to deal with it again and am glad that now they're not hurting you! pf times, Jen

It is up to YOU to educate yourself and then help your doctor plan your treatment. If you just sit down in front of your doctor and say "make me better" you are setting yourself up for a great deal of pain.

Knee's are cranky little joints so make sure you give it a chance to heal and don't go doing anything to rash for a few days okay? I'm glad it seems to be getting better for you!
