My turn to vent
« on: Nov 24th, 2005, 10:28pm »
Quote Quote Modify Modify

I fucking hate my head and I am truly thinking of seeking out one of the trolls advice on having a brain translplant. If all goes well I will have mine replaced with "Abby Someone's".......

A happy thanksgiving was spent only to be ruined by a message from a client.

We will no longer be needing your services for treating our son.

I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a Special Education teacher that works privately.
For the most part working private has given me the luxury to provide for my family when I could not function for a lot of the year. It pays a hell of a lot better than when I taught in schools and also allows me time to lecture and consult.

The problem is that if I do not work I do not get paid.

Last month and early this month I essentially went through the motions in a haze of confusion and was not working to the best of my capabilities. It turned out the problems that I was having were due to an onset of Lithium toxicity and all the CHit that wears us down.

I know I will pick up other cases but this can surely add to a lesser reputation than I once had.
People used to call me non stop and I had a reputation of "The man you need to get to treat your kid"
I am damn good at what I do when I can think

These days I am afraid since I now have a house and hopefully in late June, early July.......godwilling (shhhhh)

It just takes time and it is a lot of money to do without even for a few weeks.

Not gonna apologize for venting because I figure that I am entitled to 4 times a year.....This is # 4 so I'm hush until '06.

Happy Holiday and know that I am thankful for you all!

E.that does suck..........let's look at another side of this for a moment. A child who REALLY needs what YOU have to offer is being denied your services. I hope he lands on his feet.
I am certain you reputation will not be scarred by one parent's opinion, and this opens you up for another family......and others after that.
CH can really mess up one's life........but it cannot destroy the talent you have. Dont let this derail you, please!
Oh, and fingers crossed about, umm, err...well.... Grin, we'll wait till you are ready to spill it!

Big huge hugs to you Eric, I know how you feel.Do not let this get you down, we know better than letting ONE parent get under our skin, thats what they want...Your reputation is firm within the community and you will arise above this one family, and hey if they are saying that, they don't deserve you Grin Remember in helping others we need to step back and take care of ourselves, don't forget that and vent and scream as you wish we all need a safe place to do so ... hug's on over my friend and you know where to find me!

Like Cathi said got my fingers crossed and prayers on over and pf wishes Eric, keep smiling!

You vent, Eric it is allowed and it is OK.

Life is never fair but from the first day we entered we got no certificate to say it will be.

It is hard to take what most of us that are proud of what we do and perfectionists in what we do easily see as "failure".  But you have not failed in any way.

What Andrea said is very true:
Quote:
Remember in helping others we need to step back and take care of ourselves

Hugs to you and wishing you a very successful 2006.

I only counted 3 vents for the year, so the way I figger it (and I am good at figgering)you have one more vent before New Years. Remember, glass half full or half empty, one door closes and another one opens, you know the routine.  Wink

We have to cope among the world's expectations of only
results while fighting something that we try to handle without it interfering, a huge undertaking.  That's why it's important for us to get back up everytime we have a fall, spring will come.  Smiley

A day late but that does kinda suck.

I'm glad you did some venting and more is welcome.

Keep after them though. Here's hoping you'll get to a place where you can say "that'll show em."
